Building Communities
Changing Lives
Today is Giving Tuesday
Please consider a year end donation

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Today, on Giving Tuesday, I am happy to share our Annual Report with you. This year’s report is dedicated to the many community partners who have helped us continue to provide uninterrupted services to those most vulnerable in our communities.

From our partners who helped provide PPE and Vaccinations for our staff, to partners who worked with us to provide temporary housing to homeless individuals, to partners who lent us temporary space for us to provide early learning and childcare to hundreds of children, to the generous funders and supporting partners, and the many more partners who stepped up during COVID-19 – we THANK YOU!

We are able to continue our work through the generosity of our partners and donors like you who, year in and year out, help to support our mission. Please consider a pledge or donation by December 31, 2021, to help us meet the increasing needs in our community.

To make a donation, please visit our new website at https://www.commteam.org/get-involved/donate/. Donations of $1000 or more qualify for Massachusetts Community Investment Tax Credits, which provide donors with a 50% refund/credit on their donation.

The needs in our communities are great. With your support, we can continue to make a positive difference for so many. For that, we are truly grateful. We greatly appreciate your consideration and we wish you good health and happiness throughout the Holidays.

With Thanks and Gratitude,

Common Start Coalition Rally

We recently joined Common Start Coalition in a rally at Lowell City Hall in Calling For Affordable Early Education & Child Care. Approximately 20 CTI staff joined Representative Vanna Howard and many others in supporting the Common Start Legislation.

We know Early Education staff need equitable, livable wages to continue working in the field. And, we need to recruit enough staff to open all of our very essential classrooms. We know parents need affordable child care to return to the workforce, and we know employers need employees to keep their doors and businesses open. The current crisis in this field is having an effect on us at Community Teamwork, across the City, State, and Country. Lowell is solidly behind making affordable, accessible child care a reality and ensuring that ALL Early Education and Care staff are paid equitable, living wages.

Support Runaway and Homeless Youth
National Runaway Safeline
The lack of a high school diploma or a GED is the number one contributor to elevated risk of youth homelessness. At CTI Youth Services, we connect youth and young adults to local resources that enable them to complete their education goals.

Information from The Voices of Youth Count from Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago.

Youth homelessness hides in plain sight. We see you and want to get you on a path to stability. Call 212 or 978-905-7385 to get the help and resources you need. Check out linktr.ee/CTIYouthServices for our online Referral Form and local resources.
Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP)
$5.9 Million Grant Initiative to Communities/CTI
Planning Committee Kick-Off Meeting
The Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program {YHDP) is an exciting new initiative designed to reduce the number of youth experiencing homelessness. Our region was recently awarded $5.9 million toward this initiative through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). This grant is provided to selected communities to fund planning activities to support the implementation of their plans, housing projects, and services to support housing navigation and stability for young people. YHDP encourages communities to think innovatively about project design to and access available flexibilities given to YHDP communities to fund projects.

On Wednesday, November 17th, over 65 youth and individuals representing many social, educational, behavioral and health organizations from YDHP-selected communities met for the first of several gatherings to initiate regional collaborations, engage with young adults, and develop systems to end youth homelessness as a community. The goal of this YHDP grant is to support our selected communities (see map above), including rural, suburban, and urban areas across Massachusetts in the development and implementation of a coordinated community approach to preventing and ending youth homelessness.
