Today we have a quick update about the technology we will be using for distance learning. We have settled on using Zoom for teleconferencing with students. This software works on a wide variety of platforms and should be available for nearly every device in use. Your students' teachers will be reaching out in the near future to schedule their first Zoom session, to just say hello, and to make sure everything is working. Please be aware that this may actually happen
after
Spring Break (next week).
There is nothing that you need to do right now.
We ask that you
do not
have your students create their own accounts with Zoom. They will be able to participate in their teachers' sessions just fine
without
being logged in. Additionally, minors having accounts is actually against the terms of service with Zoom. We are looking in to what is involved with getting the higher level of service with Zoom, but do not have a definitive answer at this time, given the nature of the situation.
Thank you for your patience and understanding through this period of uncertainty.
