Distance Learning Plan

Liebe TCGIS Gemeinschaft,

Nun ist es soweit … [noon ist es zoh-vyte = it’s time]

As promised, TCGIS is sharing with the community today the website for our Equitable Distance Learning Plan.

Please note TWO important factors before you click over to it:

Attendance: There is a link by which parents will need to inform the school daily of their child’s participation. School funding is tied to attendance and the state holds us accountable. Your commitment to daily reporting will be a tremendous help to the school. Gone is the daily transport, replaced by the daily entry. We know this will be an adjustment and at 10-20 seconds per child, with the help of auto fill, we’re confident that even our most “child rich” families will be able to complete daily attendance in less than a couple of minutes.

ACCESS TO ASSIGNMENTS WILL START ON MONDAY, APRIL 6 and this means that this one area of the site will be closed until then. A picture is there for you as a preview.

We are proud of what we have accomplished in these short weeks and looking forward to implementing it starting on April 6. We expect there will be much for us to learn in the opening days and are excited to step onto this path with you.

We hope the coming school-free week is a good one for you. Your educators are glad to get some rest before it all starts up!

TCGIS Equitable Distance Learning Plan

Access to School Materials & Technology Support

Starting April 13, the school building will be open on Monday mornings (9am-12pm) to pick up required curriculum materials. This will only be available if you are required to pick up materials by a teacher. If you will have difficulty picking up materials after a teacher requires it, please contact info@tcgis.org.

Technology exchanges will be offered at 1pm on Mondays, by appointment only coordinated with Jesse Whitney ( jwhitney@tcgis.org ). All direct technology support will be conducted remotely. If computer hardware needs to be exchanged it must be worked out ahead of time to ensure we have resources available to exchange.

Spring Break Next Week: March 30 - April 3

We wish your family a relaxing, restorative, and fun Spring Break together! TCGIS staff will also be taking a well-deserved break and not checking emails. Next weekend we will email all families a few reminders to help prepare for distance learning to begin on Monday, April 6.
