City Delegation Meets with Governor's Office Regarding HB 4005

The City of Naples continues to actively advocate on behalf of our residents regarding House Bill 4005 (HB 4005).

Last night, the City was notified that HB 4005 has been received by the Governor’s Office. Upon learning this, the City immediately followed up on our request for a meeting with the Governor’s Office to further discuss the City’s concerns beyond what was outlined in the City’s formal veto request letter.

The City was granted a virtual meeting this afternoon with Mr. Jack Rogers, Director of Legislative & Intergovernmental Affairs, along with the City’s delegation and lobbyist. During the meeting, the City emphasized its concerns with HB 4005 and reinforced the reasons the City is requesting the Governor veto the bill.

Following the discussion, during today’s City Council meeting under Correspondence and Communications, City Council strongly encouraged residents to contact the Governor’s Office directly to share concerns regarding HB 4005. As the Governor contemplates action on this bill, it is important that he hears directly from City of Naples residents.
