An animatic portrait of Lori staring at the camera with her face rested in her hand

Discover the power of your voice and creativity with Broomfield Out Loud, an innovative project that launched last week at a dynamic event held at The Refuge. The launch featured Broomfield resident Lori Lane as the first official storyteller for the project, and newly created animatic artwork inspired by Lori’s story from Sicangu Lakota and Cherokee artist Kristina Maldonado Bad Hand. Attendees also shared memories through a writing exercise led by Lighthouse Writers Workshop and learned about the four stages of the project: VOICE, CREATE, EXPERIENCE and GROW. Get involved today!
