Broomfield BrewHaHa This Weekend

Kick off the summer at Broomfield’s annual BrewHaHa, taking over Arista Park this Saturday, June 13, from noon to 5 p.m. Start your day off mindfully with pre-event outdoor yoga (starts at 10:30 a.m.; BYO mat). Starting at noon, you can grab a cold brew from a lineup of local breweries. Enjoy your favorite food trucks, live sets from local bands and lawn games. Look for fresh finds and hauls at the Farmer’s Market which returns this year, blended in with other vendors.

Primary Election Ballots Mailed

Ballots for the June 30 Colorado Primary Election were mailed out today, June 8, and Broomfield’s three 24-hour secure ballot drop boxes are now open! Ballots generally take a week to be delivered by USPS, so please wait at least that long before requesting a replacement. To track and receive notifications about the status of your mail ballot, sign up for Ballot Trax. The last recommended day to mail your completed ballot is Monday, June 22. Find FAQs and more information about voter registration, tracking your ballot, drop-box locations and election results on the website below.

Features the website "VOTEBROOMFIELD.COM" at the top. The main text reads, "2026 Colorado Primary Election: Tuesday, June 30" in red font. Also includes the City and County of Broomfield seal and a stylized American flag background.

Summer Concert Series

The Broomfield Summer Concert Series kicks off this Wednesday, June 10, with an unforgettable night of live music! Banshee Tree brings their genre-bending “gypsy trance funk” sound to the stage, with Velvet Daydream opening the night with a revival of classic rock energy. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and settle in for a free, outdoor concert the whole family can enjoy. Food trucks open at 6 p.m. and music starts at 6:30 p.m. at Anthem Community Park! Sign up to receive real time alerts when there are concert delays or cancellations.

Prepare Pets for Emergencies

Pets are important members of the family, so they should also be included in the family emergency plan. To prepare for the unexpected, make a plan that includes your pet and what they will need during and after an emergency. Just as with your family’s emergency supply kit, think about the basics for survival, such as food, water and needed medication.

Jay Willey poses for a picture with two women in a room painted with bright yellow walls. The room is set up with multiple banquet tables.

Congratulations to Jay Willey

Long before officially joining CCOB’s Recreation Services in 2003, Jay Willey was a cornerstone of the community. Known before the Paul Derda Recreation Center opened, he built a strong reputation as a dedicated teacher and coach at Broomfield High School, a reliable neighbor and resident and a beloved friend, husband and father. He was woven into the very fabric of Broomfield, touching countless lives through his early commitment to mentorship and wellness.

As a Personal Trainer starting in 2003, Jay brought his lifelong passion for community to the world of fitness. While he was a foundational member of the fitness program, his role extended far beyond his title; he was a bridge for staff and a legendary figure to the community, especially the older population, for whom he built a "fitness community." His commitment never wavered, maintaining a "can-do" attitude and ensuring everyone felt safe, comfortable and welcomed.

After over two decades of service, Jay retired, and the community he served showed up to celebrate his impact. Over 180 people gathered at his retirement party to share stories. These attendees honored Jay for integrity and positive spirit that remains a part of his lasting influence in every person he encouraged to believe in their own potential.
