🗑️ Residential Waste Services Cart Removal Reimbursement Program: You may be eligible for the Cart Fee Reimbursement Program, which can help eligible households offset costs being charged by waste haulers to residents switching to Broomfield’s Residential Waste Service program for removing trash and recycling carts. Eligible residents 65+ or those earning at or below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI) can apply for the Cart Fee Reimbursement Program. Approved households will receive a credit on their utility bill to help offset the cost of cart removal.
⚕️ Prescription Drug Take Back Day: The Broomfield Police Department is once again partnering with Broomfield's Department of Public Health and Environment and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Your expired or unused medication will be collected free of charge Saturday, April 26, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the lobby of the police department.
💗 Free Youth Mental Health Training: Broomfield FISH and Broomfield Public Health and Environment are partnering to put on a free youth mental health training. Anyone is welcome to register for this training and attend, including youth, caregivers and those that work with youth. The training will occur at Broomfield FISH Wednesday, April 23, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
⚕️ Free Nurse Visit for Newborns and Families: Are you getting ready to have a baby? Broomfielders who give birth in a Boulder county hospital can schedule an in-home nurse visit for the birth parent, baby and the whole family. Get expert support on everything from feeding and sleeping to child care options, and connect with community resources tailored to your needs.
⚖️ Colorado Legal Services: Are you experiencing a housing dispute? Qualifying residents may be able to receive free legal assistance related to housing disputes through Colorado Legal Services. This program is aimed at providing essential legal assistance and includes legal support for eviction cases, tenant and landlord legal counseling, on-site counseling at Broomfield courts and remote counseling options. 🛑 Holiday Closure: In observance of Easter, some CCOB facilities will be closed and many will have adjusted hours. You will find an alert on department web pages and a full list can be found within the Holiday Closures news item.
🌳 Reshaping McKay Nature Park: From April 21 to May 9, the McKay Nature Park play area mounds will be closed to the public. CCOB is working with ForeverLawn Mile High to renovate the mounds and install turf to mitigate existing erosion issues. Other areas of the park will remain open.
🚰 Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste Event: Make your appointment for the household hazardous and electronic waste drop-off event Saturday, May 3. Broomfield residents can drop off items such as aerosols, fertilizers, weedkillers, electronic waste and more at NO CHARGE! 💰 Life's Financial Transitions: Maximizing Your Social Security: Join David Hager of Complete Spectrum Financial Services as he shares information that includes: when to take Social Security benefits, how much you may get and how to maximize your benefit and how Social Security benefits are calculated. The event will take place Monday, April 21, 1:30–2:30 p.m. at the Broomfield Library.

Make every drop count by signing up for a FREE outdoor sprinkler system evaluation through Broomfield’s Slow the Flow program. Small adjustments can save water, reduce costs and help protect Colorado’s rivers.
⚕️ Colorado Measles: Are you traveling soon? Check if your destination has a measles outbreak. In the past few weeks, some Coloradans have gotten measles from international travel. You should be vaccinated against measles at least two weeks before international travel. Infants who are traveling can get an early dose of the MMR vaccine at 6–11 months old.
