Last Day to Mail Ballots

For the General Election, today, Oct. 26, is the last recommended day to return a ballot by mail. Colorado does not honor postmarks on returned ballots. Your ballot must be received by 7 p.m. on Nov. 3 to be counted. Make sure your vote counts: if you are voting after Oct. 26, use one of CCOB's seven 24-hour secure ballot drop-boxes or vote in person at one of the four Voter Service and Polling Centers starting on Oct. 19:

  • George Di Ciero City and County Building at One DesCombes Dr.: opens Oct. 19
  • Flatiron Marketplace at 170 E. Flatiron Crossing Dr. (Next to Men's Wearhouse): opens Oct. 30
  • Paul Derda Recreation Center at 13201 Lowell Blvd.: opens Nov. 2

One Book One Broomfield Junior

Step into a wondrous tale about finding courage and the magic of family. One Book One Broomfield Junior invites kids, families and classrooms to experience "When You Trap a Tiger" together. When Lily's grandmother falls ill, a tiger straight out of her halmoni's folktales appears with a tempting bargain. To save her grandmother, Lily must unlock the power of stories and face a tiger that is never quite what it seems. Extra copies are available at the Broomfield Library throughout the fall.

What's Going on at The Field?

As crisp fall air settles in, big changes are taking root as The Field Open Space Restoration Project makes progress! If you visit The Field Open Space, you will notice that many annual and perennial species have now gone dormant for the season. As colder weather approaches, perennial plants enter dormancy because of cold temperatures and reduced sunlight. Annual plants don't survive the winter season, but they spread their seeds after pollination, and those seeds remain in the soil until conditions are right. If you are interested in tracking precipitation, soil temperature and moisture, check out CCOB’s restoration weather station data.

More than 100 community members gathered at the Broomfield Auditorium on Oct. 15 for Stories of Migration and Music, the Fall Artist in Residence performance celebrating the stories, experiences and contributions of immigrant communities.

Through powerful personal stories and moving musical performances, the evening created space for connection, reflection and a deeper appreciation of the many journeys that shape the world around us.

Thank you to everyone who shared their stories, filled the auditorium with music and helped make this Artist in Residence event a meaningful celebration of the diverse experiences that bring people together.
