Oil and Gas Update
On Friday, Jan. 21, Civitas Resources extended an apology to the Broomfield Community following the Jan. 14 smoke plume event. Read the full apology letter on the Oil and Gas website. Civitas provided the City and County of Broomfield with a Root-Cause Analysis report for the Jan. 14 Smoke Plume Event. The report includes a detailed timeline of the event, a root cause analysis, equipment replacements and verifications, and process/procedural modifications to the shut-down and start-up protocol. Attend tomorrow's council meeting to hear it discussed during the Oil and Gas update.
Call for Artists
Help design the Broomfield ARTery Creative Corridor by submitting your designs for large-scale sidewalk murals for community installation in Broomfield! All professional and emerging artists older than 18 living and/or working in the Denver Metro area are encouraged to apply. Professional artists will take a lead artist mentorship role and work closely with one emerging artist mentee. Applications are due Mar. 2.
Boards and Commissions
Make a difference in your community — serve on a board or commission with the City and County of Broomfield! Apply by this Friday at 5 p.m. and help create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive representation of Broomfield and provide review of upcoming projects such as the Open Space master plan, library expansion, sustainability goals and outcomes, business outreach and development, and more!
COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics
Receive a FREE COVID-19 vaccine or booster at clinics in and near Broomfield, including FISH (Jan. 26) and Flatirons Mall (Jan. 29 and 30)! These are great opportunities to get a first, second, or booster dose at a convenient location.
Virtual Sustainability Film Series
Watch the film 2040 and explore what the future would look like if humans embrace the best solutions to improve the plant. The film showing will take place on Feb. 17 at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a Q&A panel with sustainability expert, Angie Fyfe of ICLE. This free film requires advance registration.

Come see the Broomfield Art Guild Member’s first exhibit at the Broomfield Library! These 18 works of art represent diverse ages and backgrounds of artists and various themes. Using a new hanging system, art will be displayed through Mar. 31.
