Broomfield 101 Forums

Learn more about topics such as economic vitality, development, transportation, fiscal sustainability and elections at this week'sBroomfield 101 Forums. Hear a high-level overview of departmental goals and objectives and ask questions of city and county staff. The forums will be held in the Broomfield City Council Chambers at One Descombes Drive:

  • Fiscal and Economic Outlook: Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 3-4:30 p.m.
  • Transportation: Friday, Sept. 15 from 3-4:30 p.m.
  • Elections: Monday, Sept. 18 from 1-3 p.m.

Open Space Speaker Series

Join the discussion on “Yo Cuento: Cultural Wayfinding” with José González, Founder at Latino Outdoors and Co-Founder at the Outdoorist Oath, as he shares how his cultural wayfinding interconnected with the language of ecology in service of outdoor equity. Colorado E-Bike Rebate Program

The next round of applications opened at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11 and will remain open until 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18. Rebates are available to Coloradans at 100% area median income (AMI) or below. Learn more, sign up for updates and apply at the E-Bike Rebate Program webpage.

Charter Review Committee Town Hall

Broomfield’s Charter details the structure and powers of Broomfield as a local government and has been in effect since 1974. A Charter Review Committee (CRC) was established to review and analyze the Home Rule Charter, and to advise Council on areas where amendments are desired. Impact your local government and help the CRC’s seven members represent the bulk of Broomfield residents by ensuring your voice is represented. The town hall will be held Sept. 18 from 6-8 p.m. in the Broomfield City Council Chambers.

♻️ Paper Shredding: Protect your identity and shred a maximum of three boxes of paperwork at the Shred-It event Saturday, Sept. 30 from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Shred-It will also take up to three 32-gallon trash bags of already shredded paper. No appointment is required. 

💕 Living in Balance Aging Well Expo: This FREE event will be packed with great information from over 40 vendors and six break-out sessions. 💦 Creative Broomfield Presents LITVAKdance's "Our Man-Made Waterways": Join LITVAKdance and Wild Heart Dance on a journey through Broomfield’s waterways Sunday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. Experience waterways through movement and imagine yourself as a waterway at this dynamic event that includes newly commissioned dance, film, music scores and artwork made just for Broomfield.

🎣 Kids Fishing Derby 2023: Join this all-inclusive fishing event, great for beginners or experienced anglers alike, Sept. 30 from 8-11 a.m. A brief introductory fishing clinic, poles and bait are provided. 🚍 RTD Zero Fare for Youth: This school year, RTD welcomes a future generation of transit riders to experience RTD at no cost. Now through the end of August 2024, all youth under the age of 19 can ride RTD for ZERO FARE, in a one year pilot to reduce transportation costs for families. Just hop on the bus or train! 🏞️ Bustang to Estes Park: Enjoy the fall colors in Rocky Mountain National Park by taking the Bustang to Estes Park! Catch the bus at the US 3.6 & Broomfield Station for $15 round-trip, discounts available for children, older adults, individuals with disabilities and students. 🛣️ US 287 Virtual Open House: Help make US 287 a safer roadway! If you travel along US 287 anywhere from Broomfield to Longmont or live nearby, join the online conversation. Broomfield and Boulder Counties want to hear your thoughts on the Draft Recommendations developed to improve safety and mobility along this high-crash corridor. Access the Virtual Open House until Sept. 17!


🚲 Bikeshare Survey: Commuting Solutions and BCycle, in collaboration with local governments and businesses, are exploring the feasibility, cost and implementation of a northwest metro bike share system. The system would utilize electric bikes provided by BCycle that could be rented affordably and used to travel within and between communities. Take the survey by early October and learn more.

Today is the anniversary of the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. The Broomfield Police Department and North Metro Fire and Rescue District held the annual special remembrance ceremony to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of the first responders who rushed into danger, the survivors who demonstrated unwavering strength and the countless individuals who came to aid and support. Those who couldn’t make the ceremony can watch it on the NMFRD facebook page
