Police Chief's Senior Walk

Join Chief Hempelmann for the 2023 Police Chief’s Senior Walk! The walk is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. outside the Broomfield Community Center located at 280 Spader Way. Bring a friend and join Chief Hempelmann for this one mile walk and talk. There’s no cost and the walk will happen rain or shine! Walkers and wheelchairs are welcome and all participants get a lanyard and collectors pin! Participants are encouraged to register for the Healthy Hearts luncheon at the BCC following the walk (fees apply for lunch).

Jingle Bell Market Craft Fair

Get your holiday shopping done at the annual Jingle Bell Market Craft Fair Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Broomfield Community Center. This craft fair features FIVE rooms filled with local Colorado crafters and their creations; there is something for everyone on your list! Learn more at Broomfield.org/HolidayCheer.

Talk to Santa

Pick up the phone, it’s Santa calling! Broomfield will have a direct line to the North Pole Saturday, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m.–noon! Register your child aged 2–8 years old for them to get a free, personal phone call with Santa. Fill out the form by Nov. 30 to secure your spot on the nice list this year!

Holiday Tree Lighting

Bundle up and grab hot cocoa to ring in the holiday season at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! Be part of this annual community event Friday, Dec. 1 from 6–8 p.m. where all of Broomfield welcomes the arrival of Santa Claus at the George Di Ciero City and County Building. The air will be filled with children caroling from local schools as the Mayor lights the community holiday tree.

📝 High School Finals Study Space: High school students, do you need a place to prep for your finals? The Group Study Room will be reserved for students in grades 9–12, 4–8:45 p.m. No reservation needed; just check in with the second floor desk to use the room. Space is limited to six people at a time, Monday through Thursday from Nov.13–Dec. 21. 

🐦 Virtual Speaker Series: Join the discussion on “Nature in a Digital World: Why Getting Outside in Nature Matters,” with Lousie Chawla. She will discuss the declining mental health in children and adolescents coinciding with two massive shifts in the culture of contemporary childhood: the rise of time on digital screens and the fall of free-ranging exploration and free play outside. This event will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 15.

🧘 Yoga Class: Immerse yourself in a Yin Yoga (deep stretching) and Sound and Vibration Bath class at the Crescent Grange on Nov. 17 from 7–8:30 p.m. Proceeds from the class will go to the Crescent Grange to assist in building an ADA bathroom in the 100+ year old community building. 🎁 Cooking and Conversation with Community Chef Trini Rican Vegan: Explore, learn and taste vegan cuisine with community chef Trini Rican Vegan. On Nov. 16, try a new recipe and chat with community members at this bilingual cooking demonstration. This program is open to teens and adults; a perfect opportunity for the whole family to learn a new recipe.

🎁 Sew Broomfield: Buttonhole Gift Bags: Stop by inventHQ’s monthly sewing workshop, Sew Broomfield, Nov. 18 for this holiday-themed event that offers creativity, inspiration and connection with fellow makers this holiday season. A unique project is featured each month with this month’s being a buttonhole gift bag, a simple and reusable fabric gift bag. Learn more at Broomfield.org/HolidayCheer!
