Candidate Forum: Deputy City and County Manager
Watch or attend the Deputy City and County Manager Candidate Forum on May 12 from 5:45-7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers to learn more about the final two candidates. The Deputy City and County Manager assists in overall City and County operations by managing major projects, organizational development, and intergovernmental activities. You can share your feedback on the candidates after the forum.
Hand It In Event
No judgment, no hassles; just trade in your vape for a healthier habit! Youth that live or go to school in Broomfield can bring their vape or other tobacco device to the Paul Derda Recreation Center on June 6 from 5-7 p.m. to get a summer recreation pass for the Broomfield Community Center and the Paul Derda Recreation Center. Mark your calendars, and check out resources to help you quit tobacco.
FDA Limits Use of Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine
The FDA has limited the authorized use of the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine after evaluating reported cases of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia (TTS), a rare and potentially life-threatening syndrome. The Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine may only be given to people aged 18 and older for whom other COVID-19 vaccines are not accessible or clinically appropriate, and to people aged 18 years and older who choose to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and would otherwise remain unvaccinated against COVID-19.
Spring Cleanup
Spring Cleanup concludes this Saturday and provides the opportunity to dispose of large, non-hazardous items trash haulers don’t normally pick up. This free event started in mid-April and will be held in one more area on May 14. View this map to see if haulers will be in your area. All scrap metal and untreated wood will be recycled. Additionally, ARC Thrift Store will provide pick-up of clothes and reusable items on the same day as the waste pickup.

🌲 Open Space and Trails: Discover new Broomfield trails when you get your 2022 Broomfield 100 passport at the Broomfield Trail Adventure on June 4.
Road Closure: The Roundabout in Broomfield County Commons will be closed until May 20 for the reconstruction of the existing roundabout. View detour and learn more.
🤝 Volunteer: Support a senior with yard work this summer through the Yard Pals program.
🤝 Volunteer: Teens, help serve lunches to seniors at the Lakeshore Cafe this summer as a Lakeshore Rocks volunteer. Applications are due May 20.

Wildlife educator addresses crowd while holding a raptor
