Impressions of the Broomfield Police

Have you ever interacted with the Broomfield Police, maybe at a traffic stop, community event or emergency call? If so, you can help improve police engagement in Broomfield by taking the Impressions of the Broomfield Police Survey by March 15. This anonymous survey takes 15 minutes to complete and will be used to help the Broomfield Police Department understand what they’re doing well, how they can improve and how community members want to engage with the police. Walk-in Housing Consultations

Do you own your home in Broomfield? You may qualify for the new Property Tax Refund Program! This program will run until Sept. 30, 2024. Attend a walk-in consultation to get in-person help from a program expert. There are several locations, dates and times available. Visit Broomfield.org/HousingPrograms to see all consultation availability, learn if you qualify and to access the online application.

Broomfield PD Inside Academy

Space is Limited! Registration is OPEN for the 2024 Broomfield Police Department (BPD) Inside Academy. Bring a family member, friend, neighbor, or co-worker and come learn about the BPD’s many units and divisions. Tour the detention center, watch a K-9 demonstration, experience what it’s like to be on the SWAT team and more. It’s free and fun!

This Friday is Winter Bike to Work Day

Put your car on ice and be part of the community that swaps out a car-ride for a ride on two wheels. Whether you’re riding to the office, running errands, or spending time with friends, pedal to a coffee or breakfast station for Winter Bike to Work Day this Friday, Feb. 9! All riders who sign up will be entered into a drawing from DRCOG to win cool prizes, like the grand prize, a pair of Shokz OpenRun Headphones! Stop by Planet Cyclery Broomfield for free bike safety checks, minor tune-ups, as well as free flat tire repairs, prize giveaways and breakfast from 6:30–9 a.m.

Affordable Connectivity Program

The Affordable Connectivity Program helps eligible households afford the broadband they need for work, school and healthcare by offering $30/month toward home Internet services. To find out if you qualify and to sign up for the ACP benefit, follow these four steps by Feb. 7:

  • Step 1: See if you qualify at GetACP.org/Colorado.
  • Step 2: Apply
  • Step 3: Receive confirmation
  • Step 4: Select Internet plan.

Coffee with a Cop: Share the love! Join the Broomfield Police Department on Valentine's Day for a special Coffee with a Cop. Show up at Ziggi's Coffee between 8:30-10 a.m. on Feb. 14 for some heart-shaped cookies, coffee and conversation!

👗 CALL FOR DONATIONS: Broomfield Library Annual Prom Bring your unwanted (and clean) formal wear or accessories to the Broomfield Library and take a new-to-you dream outfit home. For each dress, suit, pair of shoes or accessory you donate, you receive credit to trade for a new-to-you item of the same category. Shopping will take place between noon and 4 p.m. Saturday, March 9 in the Eisenhower Room.

🚲 Colorado E-Bike Rebate Program: Thinking about purchasing an E-bike? The next round of rebate applications will open Monday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. through Monday, Feb. 19, until 4 p.m. Rebates are available to Colorado residents at 100% area median income (AMI) or below. The rebate will offset the cost of the future purchase of an e-bike, as well as cycling equipment such as a helmet and lock. Rebates range from $500–1,500.

🚍 RTD EcoPass Has New Pricing! Early this year RTD completed a systemwide Fare Study and Equity Analysis, and passed a new, simplified fare structure as a result. This is great news for businesses and commuters! The EcoPass program is an annual prepaid transit pass purchased by an employer and provides unlimited usage of RTD services. It is the most cost-effective program for businesses. Learn how Commuting Solutions can help your business enroll in the EcoPass program.

🎖️ Veteran End of Life Benefits: Veterans and spouses: attend a presentation on end of life benefits Monday, Feb. 12 at noon at the Veterans Museum located at 12 Garden Center. The presentation will be given by Tim Hutchinson, the Broomfield Veteran Service Officer, and will center on planning and preparation for military burial benefits for veterans and spouses, many of which need to be requested in advance.

Over the weekend, Miss Shirley Delta Blow presented another fun and inclusive storytime for all ages at the Broomfield Auditorium. Despite the snowy weather, the auditorium was a packed house where kids learned to love and accept themselves and other people for who they are in all shapes, sizes and forms in this free event.
