ST. JOHN VIANNEY PARISH
Community Update
for Sunday September 13, 2020
PASTOR'S NOTE
In the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy we remember the hope in the rubble in the form of the cross. In our lawn altar, we have a similar sign of hope. The wooden crucifix standing there is from a family who donated this beautiful crucifix that was the only thing that survived the Paradise Fire. Our hope is in the Lord! The Lord is always with us, suffering with us in this pandemic and in these dark days after the fires. I invite you to come to Mass virtually or in person that together we become a sign of hope to San Jose and beyond.

Thanks be to God our County is off the Governor’s watchlist. We are however, still obligated to worship outdoors by the County Health Officer’s mandate. The good news is we can now sing (with masks on outdoors). More information below.

God bless you all and God bless America.

St John Marie Vianney, pray for us!

Peace,

Fr. Joe
St. John Vianney

ADA UPDATE
Dear SJV family!

We would like to thank you for your follow through in your pledges to the ADA commitment. We surpassed our Diocesan Goal by $37k !!!!! Especially during these difficult times, we are so thankful that you have graciously supported SJV.

If you remember when we started our ADA campaign, we talked to you about putting your faith in action and that this year’s ADA Campaign be more than just about the economics. We did not know the Pandemic would follow immediately , along with all its consequences and life altering in all aspects. So it did, and months later we continue not just with our pledge to the ADA but with pledges of commitment to God in the form of Acts of Love and kindness.

The ADA campaign for 2020 has definitely been more than just about the economics and reaching that Goal. It has been about the great commitment we have for this SJV community and the proof that when we respond to the call of God and allow the Holy Spirit to work through us, GREAT THINGS HAPPEN.

Congratulations again for we as a community continue to exceed expectations.

Luz and Sal Heredia,
ADA 2020 Chairs
