ST. JOHN VIANNEY PARISH
Community Update
for Sunday January 10, 2021
Pastor's Note
Remember what it was like to bless yourself as you entered church? Even though we are not ready to enter church just yet, you can still bless yourselves with holy water in your homes. We will have a special blessing of holy water at all Masses this weekend as we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. Please bring your own containers and water. Please also contact the parish office if you would like a new year’s house blessing traditionally done at the Feast of the Epiphany.

At the Feast of the Epiphany traditionally the important dates for the year are announced. We are working to provide you printable calendar with those dates since we cannot give out the traditional calendars this year. Please read on for some important changes to the Saturday evening Masses and for Bishop Cantu’s Statement on the violence at our nation's capitol.

Finally, on behalf of the near 1000 of you who benefited from the Unleash the Power of the Gospel retreat this past week a big thank-you to Fr Thomas Cavanaugh! You can personally thank him via email. Now on to the Alpha Course! Read on for details.

We at SJV have had a great start to the new year of spiritual renewal to be formed as joyful disciples in the Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s keep growing!

St. John Vianney, pray for us!

God bless,

Fr Joe

I invite all the faithful of San José to join me in a Day of Prayer on Friday, January 8th that we may offer prayers and sacrifice for peace, reconciliation, and healing in our nation.”
