ST. JOHN VIANNEY PARISH
Community Update
for Sunday September 12, 2021
Pastor's Note
Why Alpha? For the past couple of weeks you have heard parishioners share about their experience at Alpha. Many have shared that they got to know longtime parishioners even better. Others shared that listening to people share about what matters the most helped them. In the most isolating experience of many of our lives in this COVID pandemic, the “reset” button will be our community being our community. St John Vianney Parish has for over 60 years been home to many of you. It is now a new home to many more over the past year. Whether you’ve been part of SJV since your childhood or whether you are new because of your own child, you are welcome. Alpha is an informal way of getting to know each other over conversations about what matters the most to us. We start with dinner (individually packaged, outdoors), watch a short presentation and have a discussion in small groups every Monday, starting September 20, 7PM in the Community Center. For details and sign-ups click here

As our parish climbs out of this pandemic slowly, it is my hope and desire as your pastor that we look at ourselves as stronger because we know Christ and each other more profoundly.

Read on for all the ways to know Christ, encounter Christ and serve Christ.
St John Vianney, pray for us!

God bless,

Fr Joe

Stewardship @SJV
Our Sunday Collection for the weekend of September 5 was $14,983. Our Pre-pandemic average was $13,000 per week. Our short term goal is to increase it to $15,000 per week so we can support our parish mission of forming Joyful Disciples. We need everybody’s participation. We kindly ask you to give sacrificially and inspire those who are not currently giving to contribute here. It takes all of us to carry out the Mission of our Lord Jesus here at St John Vianney Parish and School.
COVID Update: Masks indoors
We will follow the County and Diocesan order to wear masks indoors to help curb the spread of the virus. Liturgical ministers proclaiming 6 feet away and cantors singing 12 feet away from people are allowed to remove their masks. Thank you for your vigilance for the health of others.
