Update on Home Invasion/Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse of Juvenile Incidents
Dear Neighbors,

Video obtained by the Chicago Police from a neighbor shows a person of interest who was seen in the area around the time of the incidents which occurred early Sunday morning.

On Sunday, May 27th, 2018, at approximately 2:00 a.m., in the 400 block of W. Belden Ave., an unknown male entered a residence and sexually abused a 13 year old female who was asleep in her bedroom. Approximately 20 minutes later, in a separate incident, an unknown male entered a residence in the 500 block of W. Grant Pl. and sexually abused another 11 year old female victim who was also asleep. The offender fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction after the incidents.

The offender is described as:

  • White Male
  • 20-30 years old
  • Light complexion
  • 5'06-5'07 / 160 lbs
  • Short brown or strawberry blonde hair
  • Wearing a button down light colored shirt with front pockets and sleeves rolled up, Slim fitting dark pants and white gym shoes
  • Cigarette smoker

  • Always lock your doors
  • Dial 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity immediately
  • Provide information to the police

Begins Tuesday,   June 5
 
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin on the resurfacing of Halsted St. from Clybourn to Webster on June 5th, 2018.

The work will include ADA sidewalk improvements, curb and gutter removal and replacement, bus pad construction, milling and paving the existing asphalt pavement, and striping.
 
During construction, temporary “No Parking” signs will be periodically installed as required for each activity listed above. These temporary signs will restrict parking during working hours, while adhering to rush hour restrictions, for the completion of the work. Work on this corridor is scheduled to be completed July 31, 2018.

We are looking forward to this project being completed.
