Recognizing the importance of preparedness, the Town is creating a Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan, designed to empower our community to be resilient and better prepared for wildfire events.

This Plan is being developed with the support of a wildfire consultant from Diamond Head Consulting Ltd and will identify wildfire risk and propose a series of strategic actions to mitigate wildfire risk to the community. Possible actions could include education, changes in Town policy, and active forest management on public land. Although this Plan does not include the implementation of strategies, it lays a foundation for future implementation.

To ensure that the Plan considers the diverse needs and perspectives of our entire community, a range of opportunities for community involvement have been created.
