NowPow offers a robust database of local resources to support patients with a variety of needs. Examples include housing, transportation for medical appointments, food, medication assistance, mental health support and more.
The user-friendly electronic database allows practices to share community resources based upon a patient's zip code location. Resources can be provided to patients through printed copies, email or text messages. Patient health information is neither stored nor used in NowPow.
Access to the database is available at no-cost to TPA practices. Using NowPow to help address patients’ social determinants of health allows the practice to be eligible for additional patient centered medical home capabilities to be added to a practice assessment.
Organizations are vetted prior to being added to NowPow and audited every six months to ensure accurate information is available. NowPow also continues to be updated to reflect COVID-19's impact on organizations (hours, changes in resource availability, expansion of services, etc.). And it can also be used on mobile device web browsers.
