Today, civic participation occurs at many levels. We make impactful decisions about our community every time we make a purchase, vote, post on social media and, of course, volunteer. We think any awareness we can bring to the many resources that might spur individual action for good, falls right in line with what we’re up to at HandsOn.
September 1, 2021
Do you remember where you were on 9/11/2001? Many of us remember the fear and uncertainty that shocked our nation. Our country has not been the same since that day almost 20 years ago.

Out of that darkness, came a desire to honor those lives that were lost and the people that served. 9/11 now stands as a reminder of hope and a time for communities to come together.

We are partnering again with 9/11Day.org to bring people together and pack 200,000 meals that will help feed our neighbors throughout Arizona. We have opportunities for everyone to help serve! Whether you and your family are just looking to come out for a single meal pack shift, or you are wanting to step up and help lead, we are ready to put you to work!

For everyone's safety, all volunteers and participants will be required to bring proof of full vaccination status to the project.
Local Acts of Kindness
Community is built through every day acts of kindness, which is why we are honoring the 20th anniversary of 9/11 with our Loving Local campaign. We can all take small steps to make our communities better places.

Ideas for Local Acts of Kindness -
  • supporting a local nonprofit, through volunteering or donating
  • taking a neighbor out to lunch at a local restaurant
  • sharing your favorite local business on your social media platforms
  • buying the coffee of the person behind you in line

Here at HandsOn we will be shouting out some of our favorite local spots on our social media and sharing your local acts of kindness when you use #LovingLocalAZ!
