The North Shore TMA was featured in the Association for Commuter Transportation's (ACT) newest paper, " A Better Way: Spotlight on Transportation Management Associations",  which digs into the varying reasons for establishing a TMA and what communities around the nation have achieved through these organizations. The paper zeros in on the Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll who shares how the North Shore TMA plays a critical role in spurring broad thinking about sustainability and growth. Transportation Management Associations (TMAs) are unique collaborations between the public and private sectors and  have been helping communities deliver transportation options that benefit commuters and employers for over 30 years. The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) has submitted an application for an Efficiency and Regionalization Grant on behalf the North Shore Coalition of Mayors and Managers. The grant funding will support recommendations from the recently completed North Shore Mobility Study  for a pilot shuttle to connect the Beverly Depot with businesses at the Cherry Hill Office Park in Beverly and Danvers. Funding will also support a pilot project to expand Salem's very successful bike share program to Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead, Peabody, and Swampscott.
