RE: Compact Resources and Tools - Raising Awareness
Under the Compact, our states and the District of Columbia have pledged our commitment to military families and children – specifically supporting successful education transitions. In our role as the state representative, we serve as subject matter experts for our schools and military families – resolving cases and providing information and referrals. Our committee goal is to continue to elevate awareness and provide members and stakeholders with tools to strengthen support for our military students. We encourage you to:
- Work with your Military Family Education Liaison and State Council to develop a plan to educate and disseminate information to your districts, schools, and stakeholders.
-
Utilize the free resources developed by our standing committees and your colleagues, to promote your state support for military families.
Helpful tools and resources:
-
Disseminate an annual state superintendent memo to districts/schools at the beginning/end of the school year to raise awareness of the Compact.
- Raise awareness - the Training Committee has developed free programs and tools to help educate your communities, schools, and other stakeholders. Share the:
-
