Exploration Trip from April 23-29, 2015
The next DDG-sponsored exploration trip is all set to start in Santo Domingo on April 23. Eleven people will participate in this trip that has been designed to allow mission team leaders to check out potential work sites in several areas of the Episcopal Diocese of the Dominican Republic. From the map above, you can see the path of the trip from the west in Jimani to the east in La Romana and Hig?ey. The trip will conclude in San Pedro de Macor?s on April 29th. For a set of photographs from all of the locations visited during the November 2014 trip, click here and look for the five albums with dates between November 14-18, 2014. The DDG's Facebook page will have an initial set of photographs taken during this April 2015 trip and posted each day as Internet connections permit. Later a more complete set of photographs, complete with exact GPS locations of all of the sites visited, will be posted in the DDG's photograph archive here. The next scheduled exploration trip is planned for November 12-18, 2015, and will generally follow the west-to-east path outlined above. For more information on this November trip, contact DDG Executive Director Bill Kunkle (contact information below).
 
Online Map of Dominican Episcopal Churches and Schools 
In collaboration with the Communications Committee of the Diocese of the Dominican Republic, the DDG is working on an interactive online map that will eventually show all of the churches, schools, and other facilities of the Episcopal Diocese of the Dominican Republic. About seventy percent of these locations have already been plotted, using exact GPS data from observations on the ground and Google Maps satellite photography. The map is already online, both on the DDG webpage here and the Dominican diocesan webpage here. 
Most locations plotted on the map have one or more photographs with their location information. These photographs are also available in the DDG's photograph archive collection here. If you have photographs of locations not already represented in this collection, please contact the DDG map volunteers at < communications@dominicandevelopmentgroup.org> to arrange for those images to be added to the online map and to the photograph album.
 
DDG Board Meeting In October 2015
The members of the DDG's Board of Directors will hold their next meeting in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Monday, October 26, 2015. This meeting will be in conjunction with the annual convention of the Diocese of Western Louisiana, one of the companion dioceses of the Diocese of the Dominican Republic. Several board members will represent the DDG at that convention from October 23-24, and then will speak about the work of the DDG and the Diocese of the Dominican Republic in area churches on Sunday, October 25.
