We have made a few changes to the backstage process this year to help streamline backstage for all families in an effort to reduce confusion, increase organization and make everything run even smoother than previous years (and to help company parents have a more relaxing recital experience!)! :)
Check-In & Sign-out!
Every dancer (of all ages) needs to check in for the dress rehearsal & performances at the
Information Table on the 2nd floor backstage!
- Dancers in 5th grade and under will need a parent to check them in and sign them out.
- Dancers in 6th grade & up need to check in (so we know you have arrived), but do not need to sign out.
If a tights emergency strikes, we will have tights available at the Information table instead of in the lobby or backstage with Ms. Barb! We will also have a few leotards, etc... just in case. ;)
Our Quick Change backstage crew keeps growing and this year we are ready to take on ALL quick changes, allowing Company parents to enjoy the performances! (
Many company dancers already set their own quick changes and ask for help as needed- that is still awesome! )
This means if you are a Class Mom on Friday night and your dancer has a quick change, you don't have to run back to help with the quick change, you can stay out in the back of the audience to watch and come back to the dressing room after their quick change routines!
For example: Your dancer is in routines #6 and #8. After Staff asks the class to line up for #6, you can head out to the back of the audience to watch # 6 and #8 and come back after #8. Just be sure any dancers with a Quick Change pre-set their costumes in the QC room (311)- or directly backstage if necessary- and check in with the QC staff in the room. We will have a list of ALL of the quick changes and be watching for the pre-sets to come in and helping during each quick change!
