In Tune
Service Leader: Rev Margret O’Neall
Melody and harmony, the music of life flows and soars when we find our way to be in tune – with each other, with our own internal music, and with the universal song of life. What does it take, how do we get in tune?

Civic Engagement
At the Civic Engagement table, we are encouraging all to sign an online petition to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. They are proposing a rule that would weaken critical protections against discrimination in the Affordable Care Act. Those most affected by this would be (as usual) transgender / non-binary people and all women. To sign it now from your computer, go to  https://tinyurl.com/ACAforAll .
Earth Justice Ministry/ Green Sanctuary
Join us for a presentation on the Climate crisis at noon in the Sanctuary.

Green Tip -  Ban plastic straws from your life: sip without a straw or purchase re-usable stainless steel straws (don't forget to get a brush to clean them) or purchase paper straws.
Blue Tip - Only wash full loads of laundry and/or dishes; not partial loads.

Journey
Service Leaders:
Rev. Margret A. O’Neall
Anthony Johnson, Director for Congregational Life
What a journey this has been together! As Anthony and Rev. Margret prepare to move on to their next ministries, we reflect on the journey, the joys, the learning and sharing as we have traveled this road together through time.
With Gratitude: Celebration and Send-Off

Save the date! – June 30, 2019, immediately after the service
We will celebrate Rev. Margret O’Neall and Anthony Johnson’s time with our beloved community with a coffee hour celebration. Join us to honor these two incredible spiritual leaders and send them on their next journeys with gifts of appreciation and love. In addition, we want to provide Rev. Margret with a “Minister’s Innovation Fund” to take with her to her next congregation, just as we benefited from the fund that she brought with her when she came to us. You can contribute to the Cherry Hill Fund via check, text to give, Realm, or the website under Support/Donation. This is one way we can share our UU spirit of generosity and gratitude.
Opportunities to Connect and Serve
The Property Team is Back- And We Need You!

We have a new Property Team starting up. So far we have a small core group but we need YOU! It does not matter if everyone knows the difference between a hammer and a screwdriver, there are lots of other tasks besides fixing stuff that you can help with. We need long term planning, supervision of small projects, maintaining and enhancing our 9 acre property, working with the Safety Team, the EEC and DVLC and other groups. To find out more contact Lora (admin@phoenixuu.org), Dale (dalefisher@mac.com) or Jake Danforth (count.on.Jake@gmail.com).
Unicare Request

We have an open meal train available for Cyndi Young and Tara Hall. (Judy Mitzner has changed her name to Tara Hall). Cyndi has metastatic breast cancer in her spine and hip, which is both extremely painful and limiting to her mobility. In addition, her white blood cell count is very low leaving her vulnerable to illness and infection. This link will give further information and meal details, as well as allow you to sign up for a specific date.

Children’s Art Exhibit 2019

“It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.” (Pablo Picasso)

This year’s Children’s Art Exhibit, currently on display in the Sanctuary, consists of contributions from Desert View Learning Center (Kindergarten through fourth grade) and the Early Education Cooperative Preschool (ages 2 -5). Sonja Saar, who teaches art at DVLC, is dedicated to drawing out the artist within every child. The EEC encourages art expressions which are developmentally appropriate and enhance a child’s creativity.

Construction Update
More air conditioning ducts were installed upstairs this week, and a/c is operational in test mode. The new water line is in, and Kidscamp is using the patio every morning. Foundation work continues for the patio wall. The upper parking lot is on track to be paved and ready for use later in June.

The back hallway entrance is closed for construction, so if you park on 40 th Place or in the Christ Church back lot, you can get to our main building via the gently sloped desert from the south of our buildings, or walk down 40 th Place to Lincoln Drive and then use the sidewalk to get to our main parking lot.

While the upper parking lot is CLOSED and the accessible entrance is the ramped south door that you get to via the path on the left (south) side of the building from the main parking lot.

Living Our Vision... Everyday
Faith Development offers many ways to learn beyond the traditional classroom. Listen to a podcast, read books and articles, watch a Ted Talk, or check out a packet of printed articles from the welcome desk, or come to office 2 and access the curriculum on the computers. Choose one focus that interests you, or move through all three, whatever works best in your life. Come together for a Reflective Symposium on a Thursday evening or Sunday afternoon to discuss the topic we've studied. Have questions? Visit the website, phoenixuu.org/LOVE .

Here are just a few examples from many offerings that speak to each part of our congregational vision:
