Compass Intervention Center is proud to celebrate 25 years of helping children and families! Over the years, we have implemented new and innovative treatment modalities in order to best serve our patients. We would like to share with you the ways we've grown over the course of 25 years.

We hope you will join us for a celebration in May 2021. The celebration will offer in person and virtual attendance. Save the dates and formal invites will be coming soon.
Compass Intervention Center developed the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in January of 2013, and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in September of 2014. In December 2019, with a building expansion, this program has grown from serving 16 patients to now accommodating up to 40.
Throughout our 25 years we have always made great strides towards providing superior patient care. In March 2013, our clinical team began to research the treatment modalities that would best serve our clients while acknowledging the growing demand of our patients and families experiencing extensive trauma. Coupled with our on-going drive to deliver that superior patient care, Compass Intervention Center initiated Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and became a trauma-competent facility. Pictured above are several members of the clinical team here at Compass.
Throughout the years, Compass Intervention Center has developed community partnerships to provide expressive therapies such as: Art Therapy with the Dixon Art Gallery beginning in 2012, Animal-Assisted Therapy with Midsouth Therapy Dogs beginning in 2013, and Dance Therapy with Ballet Memphis beginning in 2015.
In 2017, we sought out a chemical dependency program to meet the complex needs of our patients. Through our research, we found an evidenced-based program that is specifically designed for the long-term success of adolescents, The Seven Challenges. Since implementing this program in December 2017, we have observed a positive response from the patients who have completed the program.
While striving to meet the mental health needs of our patients, we also sought to ensure that each patient's academic needs were also met. Compass Academy, a fully-accredited facility-based school, works in tandem with the treatment team to ensure that patients' academic goals are achieved. Compass Academy began offering dual-enrollment opportunities for students in the Fall of 2019 and is now COGNIA accredited. Congrats to all of our Compass Academy graduates throughout the years!
In an effort to continue meeting the needs of patients in the communities we serve, Compass Intervention Center desired to provide an additional level of care. With support from our communities, we received CON approval in 2018 to build an acute-care facility on campus, as well as additional RTC beds for specialty programming. The ground-breaking ceremony will be held in the Summer of 2021. We are very thankful for the support we have received and continue to receive from our community partners.
