Friends and Fun!
Compeer's Annual Friendship Picnic
On Saturday, August 28th nearly 70 people gathered at Quittie Glen in Annville for our seventeenth annual Friendship Picnic!!

Board president, Glenn Wikel, welcomed guests and gave a recap of the ma ny new and exciting things that have taken place at Compeer this past year, such as reaching a board goal: we have 45 friendship matches!

Another recent event is the hiring of our new Executive Director, Alane Stief. Alane met many of our clients and volunteers for the first ti me at the picnic, saying, "It is wonderful to be part of a such a great organization and meet so many people today."

Guest played two types of BINGO! The first game was "human bingo." People had   to find someone who had certain experiences in their life - such as met someone famous or speaks a foreign language. Following  a delicious lunch of burgers, hot dogs, and baked beans, guests played regular bingo. Many winners went home with great prizes.
Jill LaRoche Wikel, Compeer's Volunteer Coordinator, recognized our dedicated volunteers who give their time to our cli ents, though every volunteer says they receive so much more than they ever give in their friendship with their Compeer match! Volunteers received a canvas tote bag as a thank you gift.

Thank you to Laudermilch's Meatmarket and the Sinkhole Saloon and Palmyra Bowling for donating items to our picnic. Thank you, also, to the United Way, Lebanon County's MHIDEI, LINK, Brentwood Industries, the VNA Foundation, and Wellspan Health for their generous support to Compeer.
