FACULTY/STAFF NOTES
* Sunil Mithas, a World Class Scholar and professor in the Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department, is the recipient of the USF Faculty Outstanding Research Achievement Award, which recognizes exceptional research productivity during the 2018 calendar year. Judges took into account preeminent awards received, grants and/or publications in premier journals.

* Jennifer Cainas, an instructor in the Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy, earned the American Institute of CPAs 2019 Teaching Innovation Awards honorable mention, recognizing her efforts on a team of educators who taught students how to collect and interpret data and to make informed decisions for business management.


ALUMNI NOTES

* Tom Andriola  ('96, Management) has been named vice chancellor of information technology and data at the University of California, Irvine. He also chairs the board of directors for CENIC in Los Angeles.

* Kim Hill (18, MBA) was named to the Tampa Bay Business Journal's 40 Under 40 list. She currently is associate vice president of public relations and communications at USF.

* Amit Sharan ('05, MBA; '03, Marketing) is now vice president of marketing at Tatari. Previously he worked as a product marketing communications manager at Facebook.

* Leonard Burke ('05, Finance), director of asset management with the Tampa Housing Authority, was named to the Tampa Bay Business Journal's 40 Under 40 list. 

* David Staples ('17, MAcc; '15, Accounting) has been promoted to advisory senior at Ernst & Young. He started his career with the Big Four firm as an assurance intern and joined the company as an assurance associate in 2017.

* Eniola Akinrade ('11, Management) has joined Live Nation Entertainment as an associate counselor dealing in labor and employment issues. She previously worked in employment law with Reed Smith and Littler.


* Nov. 5-8, the Florida Small Business Development Center at USF will host its 43rd USF Basic Economic Development Course, which allows registrants who successfully complete the program to sit for the Certified Economic Developer examination. All classes will be held at the USF Embassy Suites, 3705 Spectrum Blvd., on the Tampa campus. For more information, click here.

* Nov. 5-6, NASA and the International Space Station National Lab will bring their Destination Station, an interactive exhibit, to Tampa, landing at the Muma College of Business over two days. For more information, click here.

* Jan. 9, the State of the Region, hosted by the Muma College of Business along with the Tampa Bay Partnership, is scheduled to take place at the USF Marshall Student Center. Watch for details.
