What better place to hold a reception for the new USF President Steven Currall than in the Muma College of Business atrium, beautifully decked out in green and gold streamers and linens. An enthusiastic crowd made the walk from the Yuengling Center, where the investiture ceremony took place this week, to personally greet the new president. FACULTY/STAFF NOTES
* Moez Limayem , dean of the Muma College of Business, wrote a guest article for BW Education, which appeared last month. The dean talked about the importance of data analytics and creativity in the survival of future leaders. To read the article, click here.

* Anol Bhattacherjee, a professor in the Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department, was awarded the Operational Research Society's Stafford Beer Medal 2019 for the best paper published in the European Journal of Information Systems in 2018. The paper, titled "User Response to Mandatory IT Use: A Coping Theory Perspective," was co-authored by Chris Davis, Neset Hikmet and Amy Connolly.

* Rob Hooker, a professor  in the Marketing Department, earned the USF 2018-19 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award. Hooker undertook the effort, on behalf of the Muma College of Business, to establish the pathway so that every business student will earn the designation of Global Citizen. Hooker will receive the award at a Nov. 22 ceremony.

* Dipayan Biswas, a professor in the Marketing Department, recently received word that a paper he co-authored with Ruta Ruzeviciute and Bernadette Kamleitner, titled "Designed to S(m)ell: When Scented Advertising Induces Proximity and Enhances Appeal" will be publixhed in the Journal of Marketing Research. Biswas also was interviewed on the most popular television channel in Russia about ambient scent on food choices. His research into sensory marketing is known worldwide and recently appeared on "The Food Network" and in Good Housekeeping.

* Sunil Mithas, a World Class Scholar and professor in the Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department, is the recipient of the USF Faculty Outstanding Research Achievement Award, which recognizes exceptional research productivity during the 2018 calendar year. Judges took into account preeminent awards received, grants and/or publications in premier journals. Mithas also was a recent recipient of the "best paper award" for his work published in Information Systems Research in 2018. His paper was titled "Does Platform Owner's Entry Crowd Out Innovation? Evidence from Google Photos."

* Penny Heinrich ('89, Management) has joined Intercoastal Medical Group in Sarasota, where she is in the process of creating a hematology and oncology specialty.

* David McQuade ('86, Finance) was named to the Forbes' list of "Best in State Wealth Advisers." He's a senior vice president of investments and senior portfolio manager in Fort Myers for The McQuade Group of UBS Financial Services.

* David Breitwieser ('90, Finance) was named chief investment officer at Grove Bank & Trust in Miami-Dade County. He previously headed BNY Mellon Wealth Management's office in Fort Lauderdale.

* Kendall Brown ('91, Marketing) was promoted to director of operations for Universal Window Solutions in Sarasota.

* Tracy Neal ('02, Accounting) was named to the 2019 Tampa Bay Business Journal's "CFO of the Year" list. She is the chief financial officer of SUN 'n FUN Fly-in in Lakeland.
