The Department of Labor to Change the Voluntary Self-Identify Form for 2020!

DOL Update Form Changes to Self Identification of Disability Form- OFCCP quietly  published a request  to tweak its prescribed disability self-identification form. The revisions seek to streamline the form and provide additional guidance to applicants and employees asked to complete the form seemingly in the hopes of increasing participation. 
What's New in Compliance!
I-9 Form Expired 8/31/19! Prepare for Changes! As expected, on August 27, 2019, the USCIS announced employers should continue using the current I-9 form with the expiration date of August 31, 2019 even after that date has passed. The USCIS said employers should continue using the current I-9 form until further notice.

FMLA Forms Revised? The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) publishes seven forms which the public may use free of charge in the administration of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). On August 5, 2019, the U.S. Department of Labor published a notice announcing a 60-day public comment period on proposed revisions to WHD’s optional-use FMLA forms.
The goal in revising the forms is to increase compliance with the FMLA, improve customer service, and reduce the burden on the public by making the forms easier to understand and use.

DOL Overtime
New Federal Regulations from DOL on Overtime Passed! Impact to Multi-State and Single State Employers!
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced it will publish a final overtime rule, setting the minimum salary threshold for overtime eligibility at $684 per week and $35,568 annually . The regulations implement the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)'s overtime mandate and, will make an estimated 1.3 million additional U.S. workers eligible for overtime pay. New Overtime Rule To Start in January 1, 2020!
What’s Changing About the Federal W-4 in 2020 and Beyond
The  Treasury Department and  the  IRS are working to incorporate changes into  the Form W - 4 , Employee's Withholding Allowance Certificate, for 2020.  The  current  2019  version of  the Form W - 4  is similar to last year's 2018 version. The  second draft  of the new W-4 retains the central changes made in earlier editions while introducing a few notable adjustments. Like the previous drafts, it:
  • Eliminates all allowances for purposes of calculating tax withholding, as a result of TCJA.
  • Introduces a new section on the first page for accounting for multiple jobs and spouse works; this had previously been buried in a worksheet (more)
