VMLS COMPLIANCE POLICY UPDATES

VMLS BOD approved our updated VMLS Compliance policy with a few changes as follows: 


  • No changes will be made to listings closed for more than 30 days. The only exception to this will be if the property has an incorrect sold price or selling agent information. We will no longer be making changes beyond these two errors.  



  • Branded listing content (photos, videos, documents, remarks) will be removed immediately by staff. The two (2) business days to correct rule will no longer apply to branding. We will continue to send courtesy emails and fines according to the VMLS Rules & Regulations.


VMLS reminds members that it is against our policy to follow up with the reporting agent of violations. We will address violations as we see fit and in line with the VMLS Rules & Regulations, but will not respond with the action taken. 

NEW BROADCAST EMAIL: COMING SOON!

The VMLS BOD has approved the replacement of our current Broadcast Email system.


VBR Staff has found a great replacement, called "Gaggle Mail," that will offer our current services, with more flexibility for our members.


Subscribers can easily unsubscribe, pause service for vacations, and select their delivery preferences such as digest, etc. You will continue to be able to use your own email service to send and receive emails, and you can view your archives in your Gaggle Mail account.


We are very excited to offer this system in the coming months. More information to follow! 

CONTRACT CHANGES

Important reminder regarding Radon in Residential Real Property Transactions: 


New laws concerning disclosing Radon Information in Residential Real Property Transactions went into effect on August 7, 2023.

NEW MLS FIELD

MLS Field Addition: Radon Mitigation


We will add a required field in Flexmls that users must select during listing input. The field will be located in the Main Fields and will be titled "Radon Mitigation" with a yes/no drop-down selection.


This field will be visible in Flex in the coming days. 

SCAM ALERT

Increase in vacant land fraud


Federal law enforcement has seen an increase in real estate fraud involving vacant land.

NAR/DOJ LITIGATION UPDATE

Message from Katie Johnson (Chief Legal Officer, National Association of REALTORS®), posted in The Hub 8/7/23: 


To help members explain and better understand the ongoing litigation facing NAR, we have prepared the attached PPT and accompanying fact sheet (also attached). We encourage you to use this as a reference to get to know where things stand, the facts behind the lawsuits and what NAR is doing to fight for our members and pro-consumer rules. In addition, where relevant, we recommend that you present and distribute these materials during your upcoming regularly scheduled meetings with members/association leaders. 


These resources, along with others at competition.realtor, will prepare you and help you understand the facts to be confident to discuss the ongoing litigation with clients, members and community leaders. SENTRILOCK REMINDER

Third Party Integration Changes


If you generate one-day showing codes through ShowingTime, you will no longer be able to do this as of September 1st. Please review the information below. ShowingTime is a third party product that our MLS uses that can generate these codes. This will be going away in a few months.


On September 1, 2023, SentriLock will no longer provide integrations to third-party products that utilize SentriLock’s One Day Code API.


This will affect any vendor that relies on this API to provide One Day Code-based access to properties using SentriLock’s lockboxes. This means that SentriConnect will be the only approved avenue in which non-users and trusted contacts of the Listing Agent to request one-day showing codes for repairs, inspections, etc.


We understand that time is of the essence, and the priority of your members is selling homes, not trying to access them. For this reason, we wanted to provide you with plenty of advanced notice for these upcoming changes.
