Noel Paul Stookey will be performing for one hour at Eagle Hill on Wednesday, June 25th, starting at 7PM.
Seeking independence following his move to New York City at the age of 21, Noel Paul Stookey found Peter Yarrow and Mary Travers, becoming part of the trio known as Peter Paul and Mary.
Their riveting performance of “If I had a Hammer” and “Blowin’ in the Wind” in the 1963 March on Washington, DC, where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech, clearly moved the audience - capturing the search for the deeper human spirituality that unites all of us.
For over 60 years, as part of the group and now solo, Noel continues to blend his music with motivation for social change. Noel is looking forward to, in his words, “sharing some music (and solidarity) with all”.
Since the 1980’s the Eagle Hill Institute, through its clear focus on nature and the natural history sciences, has focused on our human inter-connectedness with nature and the importance of understanding our complex role within it.
