Fiddler on the Lawn
Newsletter #3
Updates about our upcoming event!
We’re saddened by the difficulties our nation is experiencing, and would like to express our support for the BLM movement. If there is another curfew in Los Angeles on Friday night, we will postpone this concert until the following Friday.
Nina Evtuhov, Mitch Markowitz, Eugene Mechtovich, and Karen Patch playing Mozart and Beethoven at last week's concert.
Thank you to everyone who came and donated!
This Week on the Lawn ...
Who's playing? We are excited to welcome back the string quartet from two weeks ago, with Sarah Thornblade and Nina Evtuhov on violin, Shawn Mann on viola, and Paula Hochhalter on cello.

Where is the concert? 549 Arbramar Avenue, Pacific Palisades, 90272

When should I come? Friday, June 5th from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The quartet will likely be playing some Dvorak and more this week for some variation! Yay! However, if you'd like to hear more standards like Mozart, they would be happy to accommodate. :)

Thank you SO much to everyone who has been donating to Fiddler on the Lawn at our concerts or through PayPal! We are ecstatic to announce that we've raised over $1000 and hope to raise even more for Our House Grief Support Center.

For those of you new to our program, here's a quick explanation of the origins of Fiddler on the Lawn!
I'm Alexandra (Sasha) Schoettler, and I’m a sophomore at Pali High. Like all of us, I’ve been feeling a bit scared and helpless during this time of crisis, and I’ve been looking for a way to help support families dealing with sickness and loss due to COVID-19. As someone who has dealt with loss myself — my father had cancer and passed away in 2010 — I know that one of the most important and helpful ways to grieve is to spend time with your family and friends. However, due to the stay-at-home orders and social-distancing rules, many people who have to cope with loss during this global pandemic are unable to lean on their loved ones in the way we’re all used to. Our House Grief Support Center, an organization that helped me when I lost my father, is working to help adults, teens, and children who are experiencing loss during these uncertain and frightening times through grief support groups and phone sessions.
I want to support Our House through donations that will be raised by the neighborhood concert series that my mom and I are organizing called Fiddler on the Lawn. We want to bring music to the community as well as raise as much money as we can in order to help those dealing with loss of loved ones during this global pandemic and more.

We'll be posting our upcoming concerts as well as pictures and more!
