What is your personal philosophy?
We don't know everything, but we do know our time here is short. Let's be kind to one another and enjoy what we have.

Where is your favorite place to be?
I feel most comfortable at home.

What is your favorite thing to do?
I love to play with my two sons. Quinn just turned three and loves to be imaginative, make things, throw things, and be a goofball, he also loves to whine but I'm hoping that's just a phase. Sagan is 4 months old and loves to smile and kick his feet - he's very easy to please.

Where is the best place you've traveled and why?
I once traveled across country and my favorite was Little Big Horn forest in Wyoming. The landscape is breathtaking and the night sky was clear and beautiful.

What is the weirdest job you've ever had?
Shrimp Farmer at Desktop Oasis. People remember me as the "Shrimp Guy" even though I don't eat shrimp or smell fishy.
Please, tell us a little about your side business Desktop Oasis.
Desktop Oasis is a small business I started a few years ago. It evolved from a fish-keeping hobby, where I would donate small aquariums to friends and coworkers. Those friends later turned around and asked for more! It's a fun way to share my passion for nature and alleviate some stress in mean time.   Visit Desktop Oasis

At a cookout - hamburger, hot dog or salad?
It really doesn't feel like a balanced meal unless you have all three.

How would your friends describe you?
I think a good portion of them would say I could cheer them up on a bad day.

How do you define success?
Making the lives of people around you better.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
I was deployed to Iraq for a year and made a short documentary.

Offsite Meetings Will Make Your Team More Productive

I remember a time several years ago when my team was struggling through some thorny issues that seemed impossible to resolve. No matter how much planning and organizing and supposed communicating we did we just kept spinning our wheels. Then one...

Take 10 Member Spotlight: Meredith (Merry) Flynn
What is your name?  Meredith Flynn (People call me Merry)

What's your current job?  I am an active partner at 118Group . I design and build WordPress websites a part of our 4 person team. I am also a active partner of a seasonal bakery in Dennis Port. The website world is slow in the summer and the Bakery world is busy in the summer so the synergy between my two occupations is great!

What do you love most about it?   Well, I love building websites. I love that we have created a high-efficient process to complete every project. We have checklists, processes in place, and great tools that allow our team and I to do a great job and be confident in the work we do for others. And for the Bakery, I very much enjoy it as a hobby that pays well.

How long have you been a member and can you describe what services you use?
Around 4 months and it has been great! I am able to have a place to focus. The lights, temperature, noise level, and organization of the space allows me to get more work done than before.

How has being a member helped you and your business? I think the biggest benefit of CapeSpace for our business is the ease of collaborating with our partners in the office, and having a place to meet clients with reliable wifi and great technology to have a successful meeting. We have also made many great connections in the business community.

When not working, what do you like to do?  Tennis, Exploring Cape Cod, Bike riding, Playing Just Dance, & watching Netflix :)

Guilty Pleasure: What can you not live without?  Iced Coffee (year round), Monster Energy Drinks and Coke Zeros. I don't have a caffeine problem.

Favorite Movie?  Bridesmaids

Favorite Book? Rich Dad Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki

Favorite TV Show?  Currently, Blacklist

What is one thing that you would like people to know about you?  I am an artist at heart. Colors, fonts, spacing, line height, animations, etc. are a form of art to me. Most of my artwork in college was very symmetrical, organized, and had a focal point. Web design has allowed me to use my creative side and technical side to produce stunning websites.
