Slimmest of All People,

I sang at the BNP Paribas Tennis Open last Sunday.

My mother once told me, never marry a tennis player.

Because love means nothing to them!
Slim People! How are we? Everybody okay?

You Slim Folks know I like to keep these newsletters light and lively. Bright and breezy. Fun and fluffy.

And I don't like getting all serious, but this war in Ukraine is breaking my heart. It truly is. And I want to help in any way I can.

So I'm gonna do what a Slim Man can do.

I'm putting together a benefit concert for the Ukraine Red Cross Emergency Appeal.

The benefit concert takes place on Sunday, April 3rd, from 4-8 PM PT at Vicky's in Indian Wells, Californee.
Keisha D, Hope Diamond, Will Donato, Chase Huna,
John Stanley King, and a guy named Slim Man.

Tickets are $40 and there are just 116. The event is general admission, so it's first come, first seated.

So watch out for a stampede of wheelchairs and walkers when they open the doors!

And I'm not trying to talk you out of going, but Vicky's is not serving food that night. Seriously.

So make sure you pack some Goldfish crackers in your fanny pack! Along with your taser.

It's gonna be one heck of a shindig. So much great music in one night. You can get your tickets now:

But, wait! What about the out-of-towners?

I had a bright idea, and I hope I can pull it off on such short notice...

I'm gonna LIVE stream the concert. Put a crawl at the bottom of the screen where people can donate directly to the Ukraine Red Cross Emergency Appeal while they watch the show.

Now all I need is a video company to donate their services! Does Martin Scorsese live nearby? Spike Lee?

But even if I have to stream it on my iPhone, that's what I'll do. Hopefully the LIVE stream will raise some more dough.

I've already been in touch with the Ukraine Red Cross and they're happy to be involved.

I donated some dough to them already, just to make sure I didn't get a receipt from The Bada Bing! Men's Club in New Jersey.

And all is good. I reached out to the International Committee of the Red Cross to make sure everything is legit. And it is. Too legit to quit!

The International Committee of the Red Cross - together with its partners in the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement – remains active in Ukraine, saving and protecting the lives of victims of armed conflict and violence. Our neutral and impartial humanitarian action supports the most vulnerable people: humanitarian needs are enormous, but together we can address them. Your donation will make a huge difference to families in need right now

All proceeds from the tickets and the LIVE stream go to the Ukraine Red Cross Emergency Appeal.

All the musicians are donating their time. Vicky's is donating the venue.

I'm trying to get all my musician friends around the globe to LIVE stream their shows on April 3rd and put a link to the Ukraine Red Cross on the screen.

The Grammys are April 3rd. You think we could get those people to do something? Can some of you hifalutin' Slim Doggs make some phone calls to the Bigwigs?

This thing could blow up! You never know, Slim People.

I'm still putting all the pieces together.

I'll keep you posted as I go. There ain't much time.
A little more than two weeks.

If you want to donate now, here's a direct link to the Ukraine Red Cross Emergency Appeal:

I'm not a big fan of war.

Well...I LOVE the band WAR, they're one of my favorites! We did a concert with them a few years back. Low Rider! I love WAR.

But war? What is it good for? Absolutely nothing. Say it again!

Like Marvin Gaye used to say, "War is not the answer. Only love can conquer hate."

We've got to find a way, Slim People, to bring some lovin' here today.

It's all about love.

Who loves ya?
