SEEDS June 9, 2021
Worship will be in the Memorial Garden
and also live-streamed 10:00, Sunday.
Congratulations on your Confirmation!
At a very moving service in Wilbraham on Sunday, our youngest worship ministers were confirmed by Bishop Doug Fisher. It's been a very long time since we have worshiped with them in-person, and we are all looking forward to gathering together to celebrate this important milestone. Until then, we thought you would like to get to know our newest confirmands:

My name is Georgia and I'm going to be a junior at Berkshire School this year. I live in Great Barrington with my parents and have a brother who’s away at college in Nebraska. I have been a member of Christ Trinity Church for as long as I can remember. In my free time, I enjoy doing sports (crew and cross country) and hanging out with my friends.
The painting featured here is the creation of artist, Eric Schumann and was featured in his One-Man Art Show at The Sheffield Town Park last weekend. Eric agreed to let us use his depiction of an owl to promote The OWLES, our Older, Wiser, Lutherans and Episcopalians senior outing group.

OWLES will meet for lunch at the Pavilion in French Park, North Egremont, at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 23, to dine, socialize, and talk about resuming some outings in the fall. The co-leaders, Liz Wells and Nancy King, will provide cold cuts, rolls, condiments, and dessert. We ask attendees to bring their own drinks (non-alcoholic) and a side dish or appetizer to share. COVID regulations at the time will apply; we will let you know closer to the time. French Park is on Prospect Lake Road in North Egremont. Take Rte. 71 from Rtes. 23/41 to North Egremont and turn left at the Country Store. French Park is about 1/8 mile up the road on the left. Please email Nancy ( or Liz ( if you plan to attend. Heavy rain will cancel.
This Saturday!
Our wonderful Artist-in-Residence, Jorge Avila, has programmed the Mozart String Quartet No. 19 in C Major, K. 465, featuring the same wonderful players as last September's concert. Additionally, our very own Bill Hudgins will join them for the superb Brahms Clarinet Quintet in B Minor, op. 115!
Pride Week in Sheffield begins June 20th
To kick off Pride Week in Sheffield, we have an exciting new event on the afternoon of Sunday, June 20th: The Pride Week LGBTQ+ Playreadings!
Local Sheffield playwright Ed Valentine, NYC actor Jennifer Laine Williams, and some of their talented friends will present an afternoon reading of several short plays by LGBTQ+ community writers. These pieces will be read by actors from both the Berkshires and New York CIty.

This event is free, with a suggested donation of $10 to $20 dollars - or whatever you're able to donate - to offset travel costs of the performers.

Our Pride Week Playreading will be held Sunday, June 20th, from 2-4 PM on the outdoor lawn of Sheffield's Bushnell Sage Library, 48 Main Street, Sheffield, MA 01257.
Ice pops will be provided, as well as fresh new plays. Please bring your own lawn chairs and snacks / drinks (no glass, please). And please note that some of the plays contain adult language and themes.

Feel free to contact Ed Valentine at for more information.
Hope you can join us for some great new theater, finally live and in person!
Sounds for the Soul
If you have experienced any of our worship services, you know how tremendously talented Donald Sosin is. Don't miss this opportunity to hear more.
A free concert will be streamed 4-pm on Sunday June 13, and recorded for those who can’t make it.
Join Zoom Meeting (the name will say Joanna Seaton)
Meeting ID: 310 538 8155
Join me for what I hope will be a unique and enjoyable hour of music.
Donald is a pianist, composer and arranger, and has performed all over the world at major venues, including Lincoln Center, MoMA, the National Gallery, the Telluride Film Festival, the Kennedy Center, Konzerthaus Wien, Bologna Cinema Ritrovato, the Thailand International Silent Film Festival, and college campuses across the US. He has made guest appearances on John Schaefer’s New Sounds program on WNYC, and has written music for film, TV, dance, theater, specializing in silent film music for the past 50 years. He is a longtime practitioner of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi program, is a member of the Trillium community, and is working on an album of solo piano music for online release, Place of Grace.
Donald will improvise in quiet moods, take suggestions from listeners, and do some silly variations on Beatles tunes in the styles of different composers.
Feeding Sheffield & the School Family Food Box Program
Feeding Sheffield at Christ Trinity Church joined forces with the Southern Berkshire Rural Health Network recently, then brought in collaborators from People's Pantry, Guido's, Berkshire Bounty and the Sheffield Food Program at Old Parish Church. Each week we send out bountiful food boxes to families in the Southern Berkshire Regional School District. This week those boxes included sweet potatoes, pears, tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, onions, cheese, peanut butter, jelly and fresh bread.

A group of the key organizers met in person today, and decided that since the program has been so well received and is so helpful to our school families, we will find a way to keep it going through the summer. We are still not sure where the storage and packing will take place, but we are going to make it happen.

Another meals/food program will be launched very soon. It is only because you have been so generous in your donations to Feeding Sheffield that we can confidently approach these challenges.
Rania Markham has done an exceptional job of leading the Tuesday packing team and has been joined by volunteers from Berkshire Bounty, First Congregational Church and her family, including her son, Ethan, and her husband, Adam.
Mount Everett High School graduates, Ethan and Jeremiah lend a helping hand at the School Family Food Box packing.
