It is with mixed emotions that the Music Ministry of Lake Grove Presbyterian Church in Lake
Oswego, OR announces that our Bell Choir director, Leanne Bilstrom, has announced her
retirement. Sadness, as she will be missed having led our handbell program for almost 34 years, taking the group to numerous Area and regional events and even a trip to Germany and the Czech Republic. But, with a great sense of congratulations, as she enters retirement along with her husband, David, to be able to spend time with family and grandchildren.
And while we are saying our “goodbyes” to Leanne, we will be actively searching for her
replacement. The Covenant Bell Choir is currently ringing on 5 octaves of Schulmerich bells with access to the 6th octave bass bells and 5 octaves of Malmark chimes. While we are rebuilding our membership thanks to the pandemic, we generally ring music in the 3 – 4 difficulty range. Traditionally the choir plays in worship on the 1st Sunday of each month, October through June, and presents a Christmas concert with brass players from the Oregon Symphony in early December. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings. Plans are for the position to be open in December after the “Bells and Brass” concert.
If you or someone you know would be interested in joining our Music Ministry team (70 voice
adult vocal choir, 3 graduated-age children and youth choirs, pipe organ and numerous other
musicians) please contact our Director of Music Ministries, Wendy Bamonte at
