Challenge #7
There is a notion that Israelis are either religious or secular – with no meaningful alternative that can bring them closer to Jewish observance and to understanding the beauty of Judaism if they choose not to be Orthodox.
The Masorti Answer

Increasingly, Masorti is appealing to hundreds of thousands of Israelis seeking a traditional approach to Jewish life that is both egalitarian and non-judgmental. Masorti strives to create a welcoming, inclusive synagogue environment where everyone feels welcomed.

Challenge #8
Ultra-Orthodox leaders are now fighting hard against installing members of Masorti kehillot in positions of leadership and responsibility throughout Israel. They fear losing their total grip on political officials as Masorti grows in numbers and influence.
The Masorti Answer

With the support of American Jewry, Masorti will have the financial resources it needs to keep building its community infrastructure and the Movement’s organization.

This will vastly increase Masorti’s ability to effectively reach out to a greater number of Israelis and strengthen its political clout.

With expanded Masorti programs and services positively impacting Israeli society, the Movement’s advocacy initiatives to build an #InclusiveIsrael will go from strength to strength in the years ahead.
