Leadership Update

Jason Jennings

I am excited to begin another school year and grateful for the opportunity to encourage and inspire your students to follow Jesus with their lives.

This year, our spiritual theme at Concord Christian School is “Not to Us,” based on Psalm 115:1: “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!” (ESV)

In a culture that continually emphasizes self-promotion, recognition, and personal achievement, we have the opportunity to call our students to something greater—a life centered on glorifying God.

Throughout this school year, we will challenge our students and faculty to shift their focus away from themselves and toward Jesus.

“Not to Us” reminds us that our talents, achievements, opportunities, and successes are gifts from God and should ultimately point others to Him.

Our prayer is that this theme will help our students understand that their identity and value are not determined by popularity, performance, appearance, or influence. Instead, they were created to know God, reflect His character, and live for His glory.

Our 9th - 12th students were introduced to this theme during their retreat at Ocoee Ridge Camp, where 285 students and 34 faculty and staff gathered for worship, biblical teaching, small groups, and recreation.

Guest speaker Jeff Wallace of Student Leadership University challenged our students to embrace a “Not to Us” lifestyle, and many students shared how God spoke to them about glorifying Him more fully through their lives.

We are incredibly thankful for our faculty and staff, the First Baptist Church worship team, and everyone who helped make this retreat possible.

We look forward to seeing how God continues to use the message of Psalm 115:1 throughout our school community this year.

In Christ,

Jason Jennings

At last Saturday’s CCS vs. CAK football game, we surpassed our goal of 10,000 pounds of food and were able to donate an incredible 11,007 pounds to Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee! 🙌

This donation will provide 9,173 meals for our East Tennessee neighbors!

Not only is this a weekly record, but it’s more food than ALL participating schools collected last year combined! 👏

We are so grateful for each and every person who contributed, and we are thrilled to see Lion Nation come together to help feed the hungry. Special shout-out to our CCS students and staff!

The make-up day for senior portraits will be 7:30 a.m. on 9/15/26 in the Chapel. Please make sure your senior is on time so that this can be completed before the start of school. Girls should wear a camisole shirt underneath their school uniform that can easily be adjusted for the formal drape photo. Boys should wear a plain white shirt underneath their uniform for their formal tux photo.

There is a $35 sitting fee that can be paid at the time of portraits with a card or cash.
