Concord Township Welcomes Andy Rose as New Administrator
The Concord Township Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Andy Rose has accepted the position of Township Administrator. The Board took action at the March 21 Trustee Meeting to make it official.
Rose, 53, is a twenty year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Tiffin University and a master’s degree in public administration from Kent State University.

He is a former City Council president for Mentor-on-the-Lake and is married with two adult children. He also serves as a board member of the Lake County Land Reutilization Corp., commonly referred to as the Lake County Land Bank. Andy comes to Concord Township from the city of Mentor, where he was administrative services manager, a position he’s held for six years. He began serving as township administrator on April 16.

“I want to thank the trustees for placing their confidence in me and I am looking forward to getting started. I just want to build on the strengths of Concord and the past administration. I am convinced the township staff is very committed to this community and I look forward to joining them,” Rose said. “I am a firm believer in continuous community improvement and running public services in the most efficient manner possible.”

Congratulations to Concord Township Trustee Connie Luhta and Concord Township Legal Counsel Michael Lucas, Esq. for being selected to receive prestigious awards at the Lake County Bar Association’s 42 nd Annual Law Day Breakfast on Tuesday, May 1 st .  

Trustee Luhta was selected as the 2018 recipient of the Liberty Bell Award and Mr. Lucas was bestowed the 2018 President’s Award.

Memorial Day Ceremony
Concord Township will have a brief ceremony for Memorial Day on Monday, May 28, 2018, at noon, at the Cemetery on Route 608, across from the Fire Station. We will read the names of the Veterans buried in our cemeteries.

Spring cleaning your yard? Please remember that there is NO OPEN BURNING permitted in the Township.

RECREATIONAL FIRES such as cooking and camp fires are permitted, as long as they meet the following parameters:
Campfire

  • Are in an approved container or cleared area – fires shall not be conducted within 25 feet of a structure or combustible material (remove leaves and dry or dead vegetation from the area prior to starting the fire)
  • The fire shall not exceed 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet in height
  • Be ready to put out the fire: always have a minimum of 1 portable fire extinguisher with a minimum 4-A rating or other fire extinguishing equipment on site, such as dirt, sand, a water barrel or a garden hose
  • All recreational fires shall be constantly attended until the fire is extinguished

Please be considerate of your neighbors. If a recreational fire is causing a nuisance such as smoke blowing towards a neighbor’s home and we are called, we will ask that the fire be extinguished. See the Fire Dept. FAQ’s on the Concord Twp website for more information.
