Dreams Do Come True!

For Reagan Garvey '19, it is sometimes hard to believe that what she dreamed about as a child is now her real life!

Reagan is thankful for the Dual Credit and high-level English classes she took while at Concordia that prepared her for nursing school at Nebraska Methodist. She shares, "When I first got to nursing school, I felt overwhelmed and way over my head. I got my groove soon enough but those high school classes helped me be prepared for what college was throwing at me." Reagan transferred to Concordia her Junior year and was very intentional about picking classes that would help her be prepared for nursing school.

Coming from a Class A school to Concordia was a wonderful change for Reagan. She reflects, "At the larger school I felt like I was just a face in a classroom, that was not my experience at Concordia. It was difficult to be vocal about my faith in a large environment, but at Concordia, my homework literally got me into scripture! I was able to ask questions and truly grow in my faith."

Today, Reagan is an Oncology nurse at Methodist, a dream come true. Reagan shares, "I look forward to work each day knowing I get the opportunity to serve others and be Jesus to those that need him! I see people at their best and their worst, and I am so thankful I can support them as a nurse."

Reagan can still be found at Concordia from time to time; she often attends basketball games and helps coach middle school track. "Being able to develop a love of the sport in these kids is so special," she says. In her free time, she also enjoys checking out local coffee shops, watching sports, spending time outside, and hanging out with family, including her six nieces and two nephews.

Did You Know?

In the month of May, nurses and teachers are recognized nationally. Concordia is proud to say we have a large number of alumni working in both of these fields! We estimate there are 24 nurses and 39 teachers among our Concordia family! Thank you for your care for the sick and vulnerable. You are the face of Jesus to these sweet children of the Lord.

"Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus." Colossians 3:17.
