Connecting the Baltimore Lutheran-Concordia Prep Community
November 2018
Dear Alumni and Friends of Baltimore Lutheran School and Concordia Preparatory School,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Concordia Prep is having a fantastic fall. I am so thankful for the tremendous support of our alumni community and association churches in spreading the good news.

On Saturday, October 13, we had a spectacular day of celebrations during our Homecoming Festival. We began the day with our Fall Open House for Prospective families--attendance was outstanding. At noon, we welcomed many alumni to campus for a dedication ceremony for the renovated areas that are part of Phase One of the "Renew and Rejoice" campaign. We held the Inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame at halftime during the football game and inducted eight BLS/CPS alumni for their outstanding athletic achievements. The Saints went on to beat St. John's Catholic Prep 40-14. The Festival ended with the Annual Alumni Oktoberfest after the game. We welcomed a record number of alumni back to campus. Details about these stories are included below.

This coming weekend our outstanding Theatre Department will present The Great Gatsby. This performance will feature three alumni who have joined the cast:  Mark Russell Bayne  '10 as Nick Carraway,  Colin Jones  '10 as Tom Buchanan, and  Bayley Rabenau  '12 as Lucille McKee.  To celebrate the talents of our theatre students over the years and for many years to come, a portion of ticket sales will go toward the "Renew and Rejoice" campaign and the renovation of the Black Box Theatre. Tickets are $12 in advance online and will be sold at the door (more details are listed below).

I also want to call your attention to our Annual Saints Bingo to be held on Friday, November 16, in the CPS cafeteria. Tickets are also on sale. More details are below.

The fall sports season is winding down and the winter season is about to begin. We have playoff games for Varsity Boys' and Girls' Soccer this week. On Saturday, November 10, the Varsity Football team will play in the MIAA 'C' Conference Championship game. Join us and cheer for the Saints! All the sports schedules are posted on the Concordia Prep website .

It's a great time to be a Saint!

May God bless you and those you love.

In Christ,
Brent Johnson
