From the School Nurse
COVID-19 Vaccine – We are not requiring students to have a COVID-19 vaccine to attend school though we do recommend it for all students 12 and over. If your child is vaccinated, please send the nurse a picture of their vaccine card so it can be recorded in their health file.

Current Physical Exam – All students should have a current physical on file at school. If your child did not get a physical last year due to the pandemic, please schedule them to get one over the summer so that you can provide an updated physical for their school health file. Even if they are not athletes, students participate in physical activities during the school day (PE, weight training, conditioning, etc) so they need to have a current physical on file with the school. Returning students can use the

Over the Counter Medications- Remember to get your child's doctor to complete the Over the Counter Medication form if you want your child to be able to receive over-the-counter medications at school if needed.

Returning Student Medical/ Emergency Contacts Form – Please complete this form and return it to the nurse by the beginning of school.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer! RELAX-REFLECT-RECHARGE.
Athletic Department News
Concordia Prep is excited to announce two new members to our coaching staff.

Please welcome Ms. Hayley Brock as Varsity Girls' Soccer Head Coach and Ms. Shakia (Kia) Johnson as the Head Cheer Coach. Read their bios here: New Cheer and Girls' Soccer Coaches Named

Also, we are pleased to announce a cheer camp for all Upper School students interested in cheerleading this fall on Sunday, July 18 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm in the CPS gym. Attire is plain white tanks/tees, black shorts, and athletic shoes. Please bring water and a snack. Contact Coach Johnson for more information: Concordiacheerleaders@gmail.com.

If your child plans on participating in any Middle School or Upper School sport next year, they must have a pre-participation physical on file with our school. That physical must be dated after May 30th and prior to August 6th. This is to ensure that all those who participate in athletics are covered for the entire school year. If you have already had a physical prior to May 30th, unfortunately, you will have to get another one. We are doing our best to limit inconvenience while also maximizing our standard of care for all student-athletes.

Physicals will be due on August 6th. They can be mailed in or a physical copy brought into school. We will have several opportunities throughout the summer for physicals to be turned in, in person. No student-athlete will be able to begin participation in their chosen sport until we verify that a physical is on file. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Athletic Director, Mrs. Fredrica Newman: fredricanewman@concordiaprepschool.org.

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Student Policy
Our BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy will continue for all students next school year. We strongly encourage all students to bring a personal device to school for the 2021-2022 school year. Students may use personal devices with teacher permission and for educational purposes only during the school day. All students will be required to register new devices with the technology department prior to the start of the school year. Returning students will receive more information about personal device registration later in the summer. New students will receive an email from the Admissions Office with device registration dates. Unfortunately, students will not have the option to borrow school Chromebooks on a permanent basis next school year.

These are the personal device requirements for the next school year. Please contact Mrs. Amanda Trapani (amandatrapani@concordiaprepschool.org), Director of Technology, if you have any questions or concerns about the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) student policy.

Personal Device Technical Requirements
  1. The device must be a laptop or a tablet with a 7” or larger screen size.
  2. The device must use a supported operating system that is actively updated by the manufacturer, i.e. Microsoft Windows 10 or Apple iOS 14.
  3. The device must have a modern, fully-featured web browser; such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. **The device must be able to specifically run the Google Chrome web browser.
  4. The device must have fully functional, active anti-virus/anti-malware software (most modern computers have built-in software tools). **Tablets; such as iPads or Chromebooks are excluded from this requirement.
  5. The device must have a functioning built-in camera.
  6. A full-sized keyboard is strongly recommended.
  7. The device should have a battery life of at least 6-7 hours. Students must bring personal devices to school fully charged each day.

We also recommend the student carries the device in a protective case, sleeve, or laptop bag. The school’s Technology Department is not authorized to repair a student’s personal computer.

The CPS technology department recommends the following devices:
  • Windows 10 laptop
  • Apple MacBook
  • Microsoft Surface
  • Google Chromebook

Important Changes to OnCampus Login Credentials
CPS will transition returning students and teachers from their current OnCampus login credentials (username and password) to a new authentication method called the Blackbaud ID. Blackbaud is the name of the vendor who hosts our OnCampus learning management system. Your Blackbaud ID will sync with your school Google account so that you can sign in to your OnCampus account with your Google login credentials. The technology department will provide more information and Blackbaud ID activation instructions later this summer.
