Personal Toiletries Drive for "The Haven"
"Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." Hebrews 13:16
We have a great opportunity to serve students in need right around the corner at Loch Raven High School! We are going to stock “The Haven” with personal toiletry items.
To encourage full participation from our students and families, we are having a contest between each grade. The most items per students in that grade determines the winning class!
- Bring items in all next week (Feb 7-11).
- Prize to the Winning Class - every student who participates in this drive will get a “dress down” day.
- Label any bag/box you put in your class’s bin.
- Items can be dropped off before school each day at or near the Media Center.
- SGA representatives will collect supplies and write down the names of those who participate.
Here is how items will be counted:
1 regular item = 1 item
3 travel sized items = 1 item
$5 = 2 items
WE ARE COLLECTING THESE ITEMS
(full-size and small travel-size)
toothbrushes (individually wrapped)
toothpaste
dental floss
mouthwash
chapstick
facial cleanser (for various skin types)
shaving cream
deodorant
shampoo and conditioner (specifically for "natural" or "textured" hair)

From the School Nurse – Updates to COVID-19 Isolation and Quarantine Policy
Recall of two home tests:
The FDA has recalled these two home tests that are mislabeled as being authorized by the FDA though they are not authorized and my give false positive results:
- Enpowered Diagnostic CovClear COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test
- ImmunoPass COVID-19 Neutralizing Antibody Rapid Test
Isolation(for a positive COVID-19 infection) and quarantine(for a close contact to someone who has COVID-19) have been reduced to 5 days. For isolation, Day 1 is the day after the first symptoms started or the day after a positive test whichever comes first. For quarantine, Day 1 is the day after a close contact to someone who tests positive.
Isolation and quarantine can end after at least 5 days if no symptoms are present. For quarantine, the student should get a COVID-19 test on Day 5 (it can be a rapid antigen or a PCR test) but the student must have negative test results before they can return to school.
A student after testing positive, who has completed at least 5 days of isolation and their symptoms have improved, does not need a negative test to return to school. Students must wear well fitting masks when they return to school.
Students ages 12-18 should get their COVID-19 vaccine booster as this will allow them to avoid quarantine. If they have received their Pfizer vaccine series more than 5 months prior to their close contact, they will be required to quarantine.
Clearance to return to sports reminder:
If your child is an athlete and participates in school sponsored sports, they may need to be cleared by a healthcare provider to return to sports after they have tested positive and recovered from COVID-19. Please contact Ellen Marquardt for further information.
Free COVID home tests. Here is a link to receive 4 free home tests:
If you do a home COVID test, Maryland State has a way for you to report your results. You must create an account. Here is the link:

Important Changes to Parent On Campus Accounts
CPS will transition parents from their current On Campus login credentials (username and password) to a new authentication method called the Blackbaud ID. Blackbaud is the name of the vendor who hosts our On Campus learning management system. Please review the instructions on how to change your login credentials: New OnCampus Login Instructions
Parents whose last names begin with A-M will be converted on Monday 1/31, and then parents with the last names N-Z will be converted on Monday, 2/7. Parents can set-up their Blackbaud IDs at any time after the conversion date as well but not before that date. Director of Technology, Mrs. Trapani (amandatrapani@concordiaprepschool.org) will be available to help parents troubleshoot any problems changing over to the new login.
