Thanksgiving Food Drive from now until Friday, November 11

Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. Isaiah 58:10

Each year the Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC) serves the local community by providing holiday meals to families in need. Last year, ACTC gave away more than 3,000 Thanksgiving meals in Baltimore County and the city. NewThing and Concordia Preparatory School are joining together to help provide these baskets to help people right here in our community! Our goal is to provide 140 meals that will each feed a family of five.

Here is a link to all the information: https://newthing.live/thanksgiving

We are having a class competition to see who collects the most items. The competition runs from now until Friday, November 11. The class that brings in the most items per student in that class will win an end-of-school-day pizza party! If the school collects over 1000 items of food (through items brought in or $ donated) we will award both an upper school class and a middle school class a pizza party!

Items can be brought into school each day and put in their class box (middle school boxes will be in the middle school building, upper school boxes in the upper school building). Money can also be given through the NewThing app. Every $2 given will count as 1 item (so $50 will be worth $25 items) https://subsplash.com/newthing/give

**Concordia Prep School Students and Families**
Here are the items each class is to bring in...place them in your class box to get credit! Label your bags or boxes with the student's grade too to ensure we can track items brought in by each grade.

  • 6th grade - 23-29 oz cans of sweet potatoes/yams and brownie mix
  • 7th grade - 15-24 oz cans of beef stew or chili and bags or boxes of stuffing
  • 8th grade - 20-30 oz cans of fruit and bags or boxes of rice
  • 9th grade - Cans of vegetables (green beans, peas, corn) and 23-29 oz cans of sweet potatoes/yams
  • 10th grade - Cranberry sauce and bags or boxes of stuffing
  • 11th grade - Packages of macaroni and cheese and 15-24 oz cans of beef stew or chili
  • 12th grade - Boxes of instant mashed potatoes and boxes of macaroni and cheese

What an opportunity that God has given us to tangibly show His love to those right here in our community!
