Lutheran Schools Week – March 8 - March 12, 2021
Next week we will celebrate Lutheran Schools Week. The theme for this year is “Sent to Serve.” Each day students may dress down in the theme for the day. Reminders: If your student doesn't dress in the theme for the day, they must wear their school uniform—no open-toed shoes or slippers, no bandanas for the class color day, and no bathing suits. The outfit must be clean, neat, and modest.
-
Monday, March 8 – CPS Spirit Day: Wear CPS school colors and show your school pride.
-
Tuesday, March 9 – Zoom Day: Wear your school polo and pajama bottoms.
-
Wednesday, March 10 – Team Day: Wear gear from your favorite sports team.
-
Thursday, March 11 – Class Color Day: Upper School - Seniors = Black, Juniors = White, Sophomores = Red, Freshman = Gray; Middle School - 8th Grade = Red, 7th Grade = White, and 6th Grade = Gray.
-
Friday, March 12 – Tacky Tourist Day: Wear your best tacky tourist outfit.
There are also some special events throughout the week:
Cereal Box Challenge – Starting Monday, we will be collecting boxes of cereal for the Towson Area Mission. The class that brings in the most cereal boxes will receive a dress-down day. Let's see if we can collect enough boxes to create a domino drop that runs through the upper school and middle school! Collection bins will be located near Mr. Miller's office and near the Main office.
Penny Wars (with a twist) – Also starting Monday, staff members have volunteered to be involved in a Penny Wars competition. The staff member that has the most points at the end of the week, will get a pie in the face. All money will be donated to Compassion Place. Donation buckets will be located in the front entrance near Ms. Stefannelli's office. The point system works as follows: Pennies: +1 point, Nickels: +5 points, Dimes: +10 points, Quarters: +25 points, $1: +100 points, $5: +500 points, $10: +1000 points, $20: +2000 points.
Thursday, March 11 – Students should come in for a special treat provided by SGA after school! If you would not like your student to participate, please reach out to a school administrator to let us know.

From the School Nurse
We want our students to be able to be on campus and I need your help to do this. I need you to notify me if your student has symptoms of illness, has been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, or if someone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19. It is critical I receive this information as soon as possible in order to notify possible close contacts or exposures. As a school, we are required to notify the Baltimore County Health Department when we have a positive case of COVID-19 on our campus.
Please complete the Parent Locker app each day your student is coming to campus. We are trusting your honesty and integrity to allow our community to remain healthy and our students to be able to be on campus.
Quarantine clarification: If your student is in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19, they need to quarantine for 14 days from the date they were exposed to the person who tested positive. Baltimore County Health Department continues to recommend that a 14-day quarantine is the safest for schools to follow. Even if they have a negative COVID-19 test during their quarantine, they still must quarantine for 14 days. If you have any questions please contact Ellen Marquardt, School Nurse 410-825-2323 Ext 244 or ellenmarquardt@concordiaprepschool.org.

Class of 2021 Flying into After Prom Fundraiser
Please help support the senior class post-prom event by sending a flock of flamingos to your friends, family, neighbor, or anyone else. For $25 you can have flamingos show up on the lawn for 24 hours. They will then take off to another location. There will be a tag on a flamingo if the owner of the house that they show up at would like to send the flock to another location as well.
Payments can be in the form of a check payable to Concordia Prep School and must be noted in the memo section 2021 Post prom fundraiser. You may also use a Venmo payment to Cindy-Hoerl and write flamingos in the note section. Thank you for supporting the Class of 2021 and helping them have a memorable send-off to college. Any questions can be directed to Cindy Hoerl (cindyhpt@gmail.com) or Meredith Hieber (m3hieber@gmail.com).
