Bible Verse for 2022-2023: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. – Isaiah 43:2
From Campus Pastor Peter Couser
With the calendar hitting December it seems like time speeds up! But in the midst of the noise and commotion of this world and this season, there is a gentle whisper of the greatest story ever told! And it is true!

In the church year we call this season Advent, from the Latin word for “coming.” This can be and should be a time of preparation and anticipation for the coming of the Savior, Jesus, to our world nearly 2,000 years ago! It also is a time where we prepare and yearn for His second coming as Christ Triumphant! In our home and in many churches we light a candle for each week of Advent (this week we light one candle, next week we light two, then three, then four) as the anticipation builds.

I encourage you and your family to take time to reflect on this gift that came in Bethlehem for you and for all humanity! As one of my favorite Christmas songs says, "Endless hope and relentless joy started with a baby boy!”

To guide you in this season, we have daily devotions available through the NewThing App. Download the NewThing App

You can also access the devotions, a Christmas song of the day, and a simple challenge to (BE)Christmas and reflect Christ’s love at this link

Don’t have a church home?
Come and worship during Advent on Sundays at 10:00am (in-person or via the livestream). We meet in the Media Center at Concordia Prep.

We also will sing the familiar Christmas hymns of the season and hear the reading of Jesus’ birth on Christmas Eve. All are welcome!
