Support Our CPS Art Students
A group of CPS art students has been invited to participate in a unique art opportunity on
Sept. 7 – 9. Little Italy’s Madonnari Arts Festival is a three-day annual event that showcases elaborate chalk paintings created by artists directly on the streets. The tradition of street painting dates back to the 16 the century in Italy and has now been brought to life here in Baltimore.
Our students will have the opportunity to showcase their work alongside their peers and meet well- known Madonnari artists coming to participate from around the country as well as three masters of Madonnari from Italy. All work will be judged by a panel of members of Baltimore’s art world and prizes will be awarded. During the festival guests can converse with the artists as they create their masterpieces. There will be musical performances daily as well as a lecture series located inside the Kohler store. Kids are welcomed to enjoy activities such as a children’s chalk area and face painting. Please come out and support our art students’ creative efforts and enjoy the fun. For more information check:
