From Athletic Director, Mrs. Fredrica Newman

Hello Saints Family,

As we come to the end of the 2020-2021 school year, it is never too early to start preparing for the next athletic season. We are making a slight policy change for our pre-participation physicals beginning next school year. If your child plans on participating in any Middle School or Upper school sport next year, they must have a pre-participation physical on file with our school. That physical must be dated after May 30th and prior to August 6th. This is to ensure that all those who participate in athletics are covered for the entire school year. If you have already had a physical prior to May 30th, unfortunately, you will have to get another one. We are doing our best to limit inconvenience while also maximizing our standard of care for all student-athletes.

Physicals will be due on August 6th. They can be mailed in or a physical copy brought into school. We will have several opportunities throughout the summer for physicals to be turned in, in person. No student-athlete will be able to begin participation in their chosen sport until we verify that a physical is on file.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Go Saints!

Mrs. Fredrica Newman
Athletic Director
Online Summer Courses
Students may register for an online Health summer course and an online 21st Century Technology summer course. The courses will run from July 1 through August 11. This will free up the student's schedule to take other classes during the year. The fee for each class is $225. To register, please contact Mrs. Sara Welinsky at no later than June 19th.
Summer Instrumental Music Lessons
Mr. Meador will be offering lessons this summer to all 6th-12th grade students interested in expanding their current abilities. From the Guidance Office
Final grades will be posted for upper school students in mid-June. For some upper school students, 4th quarter grades can affect whether a student will need to repeat a course in summer school this year.
For students who earn a failing final grade in a core academic subject for the 2020-2021 school year, summer school may be required. Concordia Prep uses an online virtual education company, Educere, and its provider Founders Education for our summer school courses.
A student must earn 65% or higher in the approved academic summer school course(s) to receive credit from Concordia Prep.  The Summer School grade does not replace any failing grade earned during the school year. Students are permitted to take two summer school courses; however, this is typically an option only for students taking "abbreviated" or review credit summer courses.  NCAA does not accept abbreviated courses or review credit summer courses.
Summer school start date is June 10 and ends on August 15, 2021. Please register prior to the start date so there is no delay in accessing a course. The end date for courses cannot be extended.
Students may take a maximum of two classes in Summer School.

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Student Policy and School Chromebook Return Reminders
During these unprecedented and uncertain times, we continue to value the safety, health, and needs of our students. In accordance with the recommended CDC health guidelines for schools, Concordia Preparatory School eliminated the sharing of technology devices on its campus for the 2020-2021 school year. Our successful BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) student policy will continue next school year. Students with school-issued Chromebooks must return the devices to the technology office at the end of the 2020-2021 school year as stated in the Student Chromebook Agreement. Please contact Mrs. Amanda Trapani, Director of Technology, if you have any questions or concerns about the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) student policy.

Personal Device Technical Requirements
  1. The device must be a laptop or a tablet with a 7” or larger screen size.
  2. The device must use a supported operating system that is actively updated by the manufacturer, i.e. Microsoft Windows 10 or Apple iOS 14.
  3. The device must have a modern, fully-featured web browser; such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. **The device must be able to specifically run the Google Chrome web browser.
