New Student Orientation: Thursday, August 22 at 6:30 pm
New Student Orientation is on Thursday, August 22, from 6:30-8:00 pm. The evening is for all new Middle School students in grades 6-8, all students in Grade 9, and all transfer students in Grades 10-12, along with parents or guardians. During the evening, staff members will provide information regarding school policy and practices and other information to help you transition into CPS. Students will have time to locate their lockers, try out locker combinations, stow school supplies, receive individual schedules, and briefly visit classes.  Please note:  Students do not need to wear CPS uniforms during Orientation. Please wear school-appropriate attire and comfortable shoes. The PTL will be selling used uniforms.

Schedules and Schedule Changes
Schedules are now available via OnCampus. If you do not know your login to OnCampus, please see the information about OnCampus below. Requests for schedule changes must be made by emailing Ms. Bainbridge at marthabainbridge@concordiaprepschool.org. NOTE: there will be NO schedule changes during Orientation Night on Thursday, August 22.
OnCampus Instructions
Concordia Prep uses an integrated Learning Management System called OnCampus. This technology is widely regarded as one of the best educational tools available. Students and parents can use this portal to view schedules, calendars, grades, upcoming assignments, athletic and school events.In addition to email updates, OnCampus is the main vehicle for communication between the school and parents and students.

2019-2020 Student Personal Device Policy
Students may use personal computers and tablets during the school day with the appropriate teacher permission. The student must register the personal device with the Technology Department and receive approval per the device requirements listed below. Per approval, the Technology Department will connect the device to the school’s student wireless network.
A student’s personal device must meet the following requirements:
  1. The device must be a laptop or a tablet with a 7” or larger screen size.
  2. The device must use a supported operating system that is actively updated by the manufacturer, i.e. Microsoft Windows 10 or Apple iOS 12.
  3. The device must have a modern, fully-featured web browser; such as, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.
  4. The device must have fully-functional, active anti-virus/anti-malware software (most modern computers have built-in software tools). **Tablets; such as, iPads or Chromebooks are excluded from this requirement.
The school’s Technology Department is not authorized to repair a student’s personal computer. Please contact Director of Technology, Mrs. Amanda Trapani with questions at amandatrapani@concordiaprepschool.org .

New Parents-From the School Nurse
New students need the following medical information given to the nurse:


All new students are requested to have a current physical exam on file. Students will not be able to participate in sports until they have a current physical that clears them to participate.

Immunization Certificate -  All students must have documentation of required vaccines by the 20th day of school(September 16th).

New student medical statement/health information and emergency contacts- completed by parent

If a parent wants student to be able to take Over-the-Counter medications in school the parent and physician need to complete the  Over the Counter Medication Authorization form .

If student requires prescription medication to be given/taken at school each medication needs a  School Medication Administration Authorizatio n   form signed by the physician and parent.

Hot Lunches Begin on Monday, August 26
Hot lunches from Terri’s Cafe will be sold  Monday Thursday . Parents must pre-order all lunches from Terri’s Cafe. This program will start on Monday, August 26.   Friday  lunches will be sold by different school groups. These lunches will be advertised a week before. The Concordia Prep Theatre Department Presents Secondary Cause of Death on November 1, 2, 3
Auditions are open to CPS Upper School students. There will be a brief interest meeting for current students after school on Wednesday, August 28 in room 207. Auditions will then be held on Tuesday, September 3 in the Black Box.

Performance Dates: November 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. and November 3 at 3:00 pm.

  • Auditions: January 8-10, 2020 (open to middle school and high school students)

Middle School Sports
Mrs. Cammie White will be the Middle School Cross Country Coach this year. The Middle School Cross Country meeting will be Tuesday August 27th right after school in her classroom, Upper School Room 109. If parents have any questions they can email her directly at cammiewhite@concordiaprepschool.org . Practice begins on Tuesday, September 3, the day after Labor Day.

School Uniforms
Reminder: All students are expected to be in uniform on the first day of school, Monday, August 26, 2019. Lands End has a 20% off sale!

Please be reminded that Lands’ End is the  sole  provider of school uniform bottoms, shirts, and sweaters. All of these uniform pieces must be purchased through Lands’ End. The preferred school code is  900101890 . Acceptable Shoe Policy
Please review the following PDF for details about the acceptable shoes for Upper School and Middle School students. Middle School students may also wear athletic shoes that must not exceed three colors including the brand logo and may not have metallic/shiny finishes.


CPS Summer Work for New and Returning Students
To help maintain your skills and to help prepare you for the academic challenges of the 2019-2020 school year, some classes require coursework to take place over the summer months.

2019-2020 Bus Information
Concordia Preparatory School is pleased to announce bus transportation to and from school for the 2019-2020 academic year. There are two routes:
  1. Catonsville Route: The Catonsville bus leaves the Ingleside Shopping Center (5668 Baltimore National Pike) in Catonsville each school day at 6:45 am. It stops at 7405 Liberty Road at approximately 7:00 am and then continues to Concordia Prep. The bus leaves CPS each school day at 3:30 pm and stops at Catonsville and Liberty Road.
  2. Harford County Route: The Harford County bus leaves Harford Mall (696 Belair Road) each school day at 6:40 am. It stops at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School (12022 Jerusalem Road) at approximately 7:00 am and then continues to Concordia Prep. The bus leaves CPS each school day at 3:30 pm and stops at St. Paul’s and Harford Mall.

Payment Options:
  1. Pay the bus service fee for the 2019-2020 school year before the school year begins on August 27, 2019. Parents who choose this option will receive a 5% discount in the yearly cost of the bus.
  2. Pay the bus service fee monthly through the FACTS Tuition Management program.

Cost:  The cost of the 2019-2020 bus service is $1,125.00 for the entire year or $125.00 per month from August 2019 through May 2020. Parents who pay the entire year before August will pay $1,068.75 (5% discount).

Returning Students - From the School Nurse
Over the counter Medication form: Remember to get your child's physician to complete an   Over the Counter Medication Authorization Form  for next school year. This will allow the nurse to give your child medications for pain, cough, sore throats and skin irritation (acetaminophen, ibuprofen, cough drops, itch cream and skin care). The form is available from the nurse or on the website under "Forms and Publications". It is school policy that prescription and non prescription medications are kept in the health suite and administered by the nurse.   Download the Over the Counter Medication Authorization Form

Returning students- Parents please complete the  Returning Student Medical Statement/Health Information and Emergency Contact    form for the next school year which is available on the website under "Menu" and "Middle or Upper School Parents" and "Forms and Publications". The form should be given to the nurse in August.
